Entering the new year 2016, the first year of the five-year tenure from 2016 to 2020, Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee has actively taken measures to turn the locality into a civilized and modern urban area with sustainable and synchronous development and a satellite urban area of Binh Duong in the new period.

In 2015 alone, the town’s total volume of basic construction works implemented was estimated at VND300bln or 112% of the year’s plan. So far, there have been 98% of district-level streets covered by asphalt, 100% of households in use of power… The town has also made investment in telecommunication infrastructure at locals’ demand for information.
Many new urban-trade and residential areas have formed up across the town, contributing to raising the local urbanization rate to over 50%. The town’s People’s Committee has also carried out the local urban construction planning work in a synchronous way; facilitating the implementation of the local urban development projects…
The town has so far developed 2 residential-trade areas and 11 market projects. In general, there is a diversification on types of goods with stable prices at town-based markets, catering locals’ demand for shopping. Along with this, the town has expanded its industrial-urban space with the birth of industrial and residential parks, contributing to promoting the local technical infrastructure.
For ecotourism space, Tan Uyen town is realizing planning work in wards and communes along with Dong Nai river. The town now has 4 tourism projects, 2 of which are operational, absorbing nearly 300,000 visitors annually.
However, the town’s urban development has faced difficulties relating to site clearance and compensation, street markets…, according to leaders of the town.
Stepping forward new stage
Under provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.1886/QD-UBND, till 2020, South Tan Uyen will become a third-class urban area with 10 ward-level administrative units and total population of 220,000 people. Uyen Hung will be a central ward of Tan Uyen urban district in the structure of Binh Duong as a centrally-controlled city.
According to Nguyen Thi Kim Mai, Chairwoman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee, the integral efforts by sectors, authorities at all levels and people are needed to well realize the set targets. In the coming time, the town will further mobilize all resources and take synchronous measures in the field of urban management, development and construction. This aims to build up a civilized and modern Tan Uyen urban area in the new period.
In the 2016-2020 period, Tan Uyen town will attach special importance to shifting the local economic structure towards industry-service and agriculture; modernize agriculture and rural areas based on urban agricultural models; simultaneously build modern and synchronous socio-economic infrastructure in order to create a motivation for the local development and constantly improve locals’ lives…
