After four years of reestablishment, Tan Uyen town has changed obviously. The town has strived to become a third-class city with the goal of urban and industrial development towards civilization and modernity.
Nguyen Huu Tri, Vice-Secretary of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee said that based on achievements done in 2017 and targets of the resolution of the Executive Board of the town’s Party Committee, the town has set 2018’s overall targets, including ensuring stable and sustainable growth, further perfecting socio-economic infrastructure, promoting urban-service development, turning it out a third-class city in 2018.

Also according to him, the town’s economic sector last year reached a 13.4% growth with the value of industrial production and construction at VND19.5trillion. The average income of the local people was VND57.2million per capita per year. The town also effectively realized policies on health and education. The spiritual life of the local people continued being improved a lot.
So far, the town has basically fulfilled standards of a third-class city under the province. To achieve the set targets, as planned, the town will continue selectively absorbing investment projects in line with the local urban development orientation; well realize State administration in the domains of land, construction and environment; strengthen urban rejuvenation, hasten the progress of construction of major works, monitor over the implementation of projects approved…The town will also effectively realize policies on social welfare, national targets programs; maintain and improve the quality of education; propagandize and mobilize people to practise civilized urban lifestyle.
The urban and industrial image of communes and wards in the town, namely Uyen Hung, Khanh Binh, Thai Hoa…has also got more and more thriving. Nguyen Van Thuong, Secretary of Khanh Binh ward’s Party Committee said: “In 2018, the ward’s Party Committee will concentrate on directing the realization of targets on trade-service development; perfect material facilities, streets and lighting systems by socialization resources; handle problems on urban and industrial development to ensure the local environment, infrastructure facilities, safety for fire prevention-fighting and security-order.
To perfect socio-economic infrastructure facilities and promote urban-service development towards a third-class city, the town will continue expanding South Tan Uyen industrial park, make rejuvenation for industrial production areas, remove production facilities causing environmental pollution from residential areas; carry out development planning for Rua isle, Bach Dang isle…; foster agricultural products with hi-economic efficiency, urban agricultural models and pomelos-growing areas.
“In addition, Tan Uyen town will focus on upgrading Uyen Hung with civilized urban standards in 2018; enhance the quality of new rural criteria in 2 communes of Bach Dang and Thanh Hoi wards; strive to upgrade 4 communes of Hoi Nghia, Phu Chanh, Vinh Tan and Tan Vinh Hiep into wards by 2020; improve the quality of people’s life, repulse social evils, preserve and develop the values of the local culture; ensure socio-economic development in association with the situation of political-social stability maintained, national defence and security strengthened”, Mr.Tri added.
