Flexibility in renewal
Till now, TDM city has reached a robust growth with the proportion of agriculture towards the reduction of animal husbandry and cultivation, the growth of services and hi-tech agricultural models. The local traditional crafts of pottery and furniture have continued being maintained, contributing to upholding Vietnamese quintessence.
The city has also taken initiative in industrial development. Currently, the city is home to 6 industrial parks with 224 domestic and FDI enterprises, generating jobs for more than 23,000 laborers. It is expected that till the end of the 2011-2015 tenure of the city’s Party Committee, locals’ income will be VND81.6mln, a twofold increase compared to 2010.
In addition, the city’s trade-service sector has been developed under the socialization formula at locals’ demand for consumption and shopping, raising their spiritual and material lives. The city has also formed up a modern retail system with trade centers and supermarket like Metro Cash & Carry, Co.opmart, Nguyen Kim…
Regarding traffic system, the city has worked out important works, including Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, Nguyen Chi Thanh street, My Phuoc-Tan Van expressway…Along with infrastructure in terms of irrigation, waste treatment, water supply and drainage, the city has attached special importance to urban infrastructure development.
The city has also paid more attention to health and education fields, well realized social welfare policies with many practical results…

Possibly seeing, the city’s socio-economic performance is now in the most thriving period, but still faces shortcomings for change.
With the role as a center of the province, TDM city has always created the connection of traffic, trade and investment to promote the development of the locality, the Southeastern region and the Southern key economic region.
So far, TDM city has basically fulfilled criteria of a first-class city with industrial, service and urban projects that have been implemented. All will be great potentials for the city to reach a modern and civilized development.
The city will also continue raising the quality of the local economic growth, building infrastructure in a synchronous way, striving to reach a sustainable and quick development with the quality and speed that are higher than the province’s average level. Moreover, the city will further pay attention to protecting the environment, building up a healthy urban lifestyle; constantly raise the quality of people’s spiritual and material lives, maintain national defence and security…All are regular and important tasks towards a modern and civilized TDM city.
