TDM city’s socio-economic situation in the first half of 2017 continued obtaining stable development. This is the advantageous premise for the locality to reach criteria of a first-class city this year.
Efforts to fulfill criteria of a first-class city
Over the past six months, TDM city attached special importance to perfecting a scheme of recognizing it as a first-class city this year; well realized preparatory steps for the adjustment of land use and functional zone planning for wards; the approval of planning for a housing area on Huynh Van Luy street; the partial adjustment of planning for Hiep Thanh 3 residential area…
The city also made traffic signal installation at Phu Cuong ward’s crossroads on roads, namely Nguyen Van Tiet, August Revolution, Tran Binh Trong, Pham Ngoc Thach, DX44, Bui Van Binh, My Phuoc-Tan Van…; carried out supplementary growing of green trees on 17 streets; forwarded pilot construction of 3 public international standard toilets from socialization capital at Phu Cuong park, provincial coach station and Bach Dang ferry station.
In terms of urban management, the city’s functional forces deployed an order inspection plan on 8 main streets and made liquidation of 4 headquarters in order to construct public works.
Leaders of the city also continued closely instructing the realization of basic construction, site clearance and compensation, construction order management…, thereby contributing to improving public awareness in building civilized urban lifestyle towards a goal of becoming a first-class city.
Economy as lever for development
Over the past six month, the city’s targets on economic development gained good results with total retail sales revenue at nearly VND46trillion or 46.9% of the yearly plan; industrial production value at nearly more than VND8.49trillion; State budget collection at more than VND1.5trillion or 63.08% of the province’s estimates.
Nguyen Loc Ha, Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee said that good results on economic development over the past six months will be the lever for the city to further fulfill its targets on economic development in 2017. In the coming time, the city will concentrate on removing queries in terms of site clearance and compensation to hasten the progress of construction of works like hospitals, the streets along Saigon river for the phase 1…
The local government will also continue facilitating businesses’ investment in terms of trade-service projects in order to victoriously realize a goal of becoming a first-class city, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the province.
