Hi-quality services in TDM city have reached in-depth development, step by step upholding their role in developing this sector in particular, the local economy in general.
Positive results
On April 29, 2017, the city’s People’s Committee set the Plan No.59 on developing hi-quality services for the 2016-2020 period. The city also focused on seriously carrying out the city’s Party Standing Committee’s Conclusion No.148-KL/TU dated June 8, 2018 on promoting hi-quality services for the 2016-2020 period.

Under the above plan, conclusion, the city gained many major results in trade-services. The city’s crude services on banking, finance, insurance, telecommunications, science-technology…have so far reached high growth. Supermarkets, plazas, convenient stores…have loomed large across the city.
The city is now home to 4 trade centers, 5 supermarkets at people and enterprises ‘demand for shopping and consumption. These units have joined hands with the province to well realize the local market price stabilization program. The city has also paid attention to building, upgrading traditional markets for better development while promoting socialization in this field. There are now 13 out of 15 traditional markets invested under the socialization form.
In addition, the city has attached special importance to fostering housing services in association with urban rejuvenation and development, contributing to bringing it a more civilized and modern urban image.
The city has also paid attention to constructing infrastructure facilities in order to promoting banking services. The city now has 53 banks and 4 people’s credit funds with quality improved, contributing to meeting organizations and individuals’ increasing demand for loans, promoting non-cash payment services…
Enhancing growth quality
Together with positive results done over the past time, the city’s sector of hi-quality services has still faced some obstacles for change.
Accordingly, the city will continue creating favorable conditions for enterprises to make investment in this field. The city will also diversify and promote services, strengthen trade promotion; encourage economic sectors to foster this sector at enterprises ‘demand for production-business, people and tourists ‘demand for shopping and consumption. Moreover, the city will implement a project on preserving and developing Tuong Binh Hiep craft village in association with tourism development.
To fulfill the set target for 2020, the city needs to better uphold its solidarity, flexibility, creativeness in all fields. Sectors, authorities at all levels and people need to raise high their responsibility and contribute feasible ideas to the city in order to effectively carry out the local task on developing hi-quality services between 2016-2020, creating the foundation for the local orientations on long-term development in the next years.
Dang Thanh Tam, Deputy Head of the city’s Division of Economics said that under the program on developing hi-quality services in the 2016-2020 period, the city will further improve its role, State management capacity in development orientation for hi-quality services in association with reforming administrative procedures. The city will also attach special importance to diversifying services, strengthening trade promotion; encourage economic sectors to get involved in this field at enterprises ‘demand for production-business, people and tourists ‘demand for shopping and consumption.
