With its main products being industrial fans with high accuracy and power saving, Nghe Nang Company has always attached special importance to technological innovation, bringing it a different feature in production and business.
Starting business from zero
Luu Tri, Director of Nghe Nang Company said: “Born in a poor family, I had to take jobs to earn my living when being at the age of 14. At that time, I was an apprentice electrician at his acquaintance and perhaps this was a motivation for me to grow up”. Business opportunity came to Luu Tri when he worked as a worker at HCM city-based Pouyen factory. Industrial fans for workshops were not present in the domestic market at that time. But thanks to capital source from his owner plus his creativeness, Luu Tri managed and researched ways to produce industrial fans in HCM city.
Luu Tri said that he and his colleagues spent a lot of time on researching ways to generate industrial fans as 100% of them were imported at that time. They faced difficulties for this research because of lacking relevant documents and experience. With his passion of creating new technologies to meet orders, Luu Tri confidently set up Nghe Nang Company. So far, Nghe Nang Company has become Vietnam’s top producer in manufacturing industrial fans. Nghe Nang now has 4 subsidiary companies, one of which is placed in Myanmar.
Developed from a small workshop in HCM city’s Binh Chanh district with little capita in the initial period, Nghe Nang has till now reached robust growth with hundreds of staff and manufactured thousands of various industrial fans annually. The company’s products have met domestic enterprises’ demand and been exported to countries in the regions with some products highly appreciated by customers abroad.
Sustainable development with good technology
To achieve the current success, Nghe Nang Company has constantly innovated its production technologies to generate products at customers’ demand. Luu Tri said that in 2007, the company’s technical initiative on producing vacuum cleaners for export garment industry was awarded the certificate of labor creativeness from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor
This technical initiative has brought the annual benefit of billions of dong to enterprises using Nghe Nang Company’s products. In 2008, Nghe Nang Company was also awarded the certificate of “Trusted Brand” and the Gold Cup Award - Excellent Products and Services 2008 for its products.
Nghe Nang Company has always researched new technologies to create hi-quality products for customers. In 2007, the company still set up a group researching to produce exhaust fans amid economy facing difficulties. Although spending a lot of time and money on the research, the company has made success with exhaust fans that are quickly accepted by the domestic market with the small design and reasonable price of VND4.5mln per unit.
In 2011, Nghe Nang Company bravely borrowed additional VND2bln from the National Science-Technology Development Fund to automate its production lines, contributing to raising its localization ratio of products to 90%. Also upon this, the company’s capacity has been improved considerably. Nghe Nang Company’s total sales last year rocketed up, not only making the company reach robust growth, but also helping enterprises using the company’s products to save costs and stabilize their production.
Luu Tri said: “Technological investment has not only helped enterprises to create consumption market for their products, but also enhance their prestige in the market. Nghe Nang Company now faces competition with around 20 enterprises in this field, but we always have great advantages when making bids thanks to good technologies and highly applied products”.
