Thanh An commune is about 11km south of downtown Dau Tieng district with total natural area of 5,857.08 ha. Thanks to favorable geography, Thanh An commune is very suitable to developing the cultivation models.
Thanh An commune’s cultural house
Lying along the Sai Gon River plus Can Nom reservoir, Thanh An commune has an irrigation system that meet the basic needs of production and life. Stone mines along Can Nom reservoir also meet the needs of the rural infrastructure construction.
Such these apart, Thuan An commune’s animal husbandry models have seen good development. The productivity of the local rice fields has always reached 4 or 5 tons per ha. Recently, farm economy has been forming up herein.
Thanh An commune has made positive changes during the process of building the new countryside. Particularly, there have been improvements in terms of traffic system, education, health, socio-culture and people’s living standards, making favorable conditions for the local process of building the commune’s new countryside in the new period.
Focusing on building new countryside
Thanh An commune now focuses on developing it into a new rural area. So far, the new construction of some material facilities such as commune’s cultural house, primary school…have been fulfilled to prepare for the process of building the commune’s new countryside in the coming time
The local government has also sped up information dissemination of the National Target Program on Building the New Countryside to the local people. Nguyen Van Vang, a resident in Can Giang hamlet said: “…We want to further receive more support from authorities, especially in seeking a consumption market, stabilizing farm produce prices to help us increase income”.
Hoang Van Tan, acting chairman of Thanh An communal People’s Committee said: “To prepare for the process of building its new countryside, the commune has concentrated on training qualified young cadres, more than two-thirds of whom have university graduation. In the coming time, the commune will work harder on building infrastructure, continue to maintain political security and pay attention to the lives of privileged and poor households as well as making more investment in fields of education and culture…”.
Thanh An commune is making good preparations for the processing of building its new countryside. With high determination and commitment shared by the local government and people, it is believed that Thanh An commune will successfully build of a new rural area.
