Promoting all people’s strength
Right from the first days of launching the program on new rural building, Thanh An commune party committee considered the new rural building as one of key tasks for its development.
Hoang Van Tan, chairman of the communal People’s Committee, said “New rural building is to build a happy and prosperous life for local people. The get success in the program, we specify that it is necessary to have hi-unity from people. We have therefore made greater efforts to disseminate and raise cadres and people’s awareness. Success of promulgation will be a key factor to help Thanh An excel the program”.
Through promulgation and mobilization, the movement of new rural building has been responded by people. Nguyen Van An, chairman of the communal Farmers’ Society, said “Thanks to dissemination and education, each household has paid much attention to building cultural lifestyle, helping together develop home-based economy and improve material life”.
Talking about result of the program, Hoang Van Tan said that local people not only excel the program’s criteria but complete them rapidly. Until now, Thanh An has reached 15 out of 19 criteria.
Focusing on production development
To get success in the new rural building program, aside from the motto of promoting all people’s strength, Thanh An commune party committee has spurred production development for local residents.
Nguyen Van An, said “the communal farmers have changed plant structure to increase capacity and quality of products. In order to help local farmers, the communal Farmers’ Society has constantly opened vocational training classes, technical seminars on farming and breeding… Thanks to the training classes, local farmers have enjoyed a high capacity in the last rice crop. In terms of plant structure, local farmers have bravely changed 60-70ha of low capacity rice area to rubber tree growing. Many households have enjoyed high incomes from rubber trees, a 40-50% increase from rice growing”.
Together with agricultural development, Thanh An commune has focused on developing handicraft and trade-service, facilitating new trades’ development. During the process of launching the national program of new rural building, Thanh An commune has concentrated on building cooperatives to develop production, bounding for completion of the program’s all criteria.
Hoang Van Tan added that the whole commune now has 3 cooperatives in good operation. They include Thanh Tan agro-service cooperative, Quy Phat agro-service cooperative and Danh Le rice paper cooperative.
Thanh Tan agro-service cooperative is home to 15 members with an income of VND4.5mil per capita per month. Quy Phat agro-service cooperative has 7 members, enjoying an average income of VND4mil per month while Danh Le rice paper cooperative’s 11 members have enjoyed VND3.2mil per capita per month. These cooperatives have contributed to place jobs for nearly 150 local laborers.
Possibly speaking, the national program on new rural building in Thanh An commune has reached initial results and brought a new image for the locality.
