Leaders of the People’s Commune of Thanh An commune in Dau Tieng district said that as of late November 2020, the commune’s models on agricultural economy and new-style rural construction reached considerable results.
Perfect infrastructure
Thanh An commune is changing with streets covered by asphalt, concrete and spacious Thai-style houses. Nguyen Thanh Du, Chairman of the communal People’s Committee said that the communal People’s Committee will continue perfecting the local infrastructure system in 2021, aiming to improve the lives of locals.

In 2020, the local administration coordinated with relevant sectors to further propagandize and mobilize locals to join hands in new-style rural construction while making models in 2021. So far, all 8 hamlets of the commune have carried out 9 works on rural traffic infrastructure with 262 participants and total mobilized capital of VND641million.
Agricultural development in association with new-style rural construction
Till now, most farmers in the commune have bravely applied sci-tech advancements into cultivation and animal husbandry for better development. This result came from the efforts by the local administration and Farmers ‘Association in opening training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry for the local farmers.
Nguyen Van Binh, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee hoped that the cultivation and animal husbandry models of Thanh An in particular and the whole district in general will soon reach VietGAP standards, creating specialities with the trademake of Dau Tieng in particular and Binh Duong in general. The whole commune now has 3,500 hectares of rubber trees, but this area will be reduced and replaced by orchards and general farms with hi-tech application for the 2021-2025 period. According to statistics, the commune is now home to around 67 hectares of fruit trees, mainly being citrus fruit trees, durians, mangosteens, rambutans…The income from the local orchards gain the growth of 60%-100% compared to that of rubber trees.
The commune’s animal husbandry sector has also reached development with increase in the number of poultry and cattle herds, especially mother cows.
Along with socio-economic development towards sustainable agricultural development in association with new-style rural construction, the commune’s trade-service activities met locals ‘demand for shopping over the past time. The local administration also tightened control over food safety and hygiene at food trading households before, during and after Tet and great holidays while coordinating with relevant sectors to disseminate food safety and hygiene among the local food stores.
