In 2009, Thanh Le Trade – Import-Export Ltd. received many prizes of second class Labor Order, emulation flags and so on. Besides, the provincial People’s Committee granted the title of excellent labor to workgroups and individuals. Those are its achievements during 17 years of development and establishment as an economic group.
From traditional lacquer to multi-sectoral economic unit
In 1991, with the aim of recovering the local lacquer and traditional craft villages, Song Be provincial People’s Committee decided to set up Thanh Le Lacquer Company, placing jobs 1,000 laborers. At that time, the company involved in activities of waterway transport, petrol business. In 1993, the company managed activities of the export farm produce factory.

From 1994-1995, the company developed 3 more branches of Housing Development and Business Company, Lien Viet Footwear Co. and Viet Lap Footwear Co. Till 1996, the company pioneered to build two industrial parks of Binh Duong and Song Than 1. In this time, the company invested in 2 residential parks of Binh Duong and K8 in Hiep Thanh ward. Till 2005, 2 IPs of Song Than 1 and Binh Duong lured 174 businesses, placing jobs for over 45,000 laborers. Besides, the company built and applied quality systems of ISO, HACCP, GMP to improve its business efficiency, affirm its trademark in the int’l arena.
Efficiency of production and business
In 2009, the company’s revenue was at VND6,250bil, reaching a pre-tax profit of VND96.86bil, a post-tax profit of VND90.77bil, paying VND1,457bil to the state budget. In the first six months of this year, the company reached over VND5tril in revenue, VND50bil in profit and offered average income of VND4.6mil per month for every worker. Besides, the company spent VND913mil to charity work.
Since 2009, the company has invested in Chanh My urban area, Dinh Hoa residential area, An Son residential area and upgraded Thanh Le cultural park. As of the end of 2009, the company invested over VND677bil in these projects.
In 2009, the company’s affiliates including Thanh Le Packaging Co., Binh Duong waterway transport Co., Binh Duong Oil and Gas Co. were in good operation. Especially, on June 14, 2010, the provincial People’s Committee decided to transfer capital of Binh Duong Urban Work Ltd. to the company.
Regarding the success, Dao Thi Thanh Nguyen, general director of the company stressed on factors of new operational orientation, business chance, prestige and quality.
The company spent 3 months of salary, 45kg of rice and one coupon worth VND300,000… for workers awaiting jobs. “With its achievements, Thanh Le Company will uphold efficiency that world market creates for Vietnam economy”, said Nguyen.
