After five months of operation, Thanh Phuoc Port (phase 1) invested by Thanh Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company (JSC) has gained positive results in business.
Being the first river port of Binh Duong, Thanh Phuoc Port is situated in the Dong Nai river right bank in Tan Uyen district’s Thanh Phuoc commune. The phase 1 of the port has been put in operation with 2 berths of 124 meters in length, 2 Liebherr cranes with loading/unloading capacity of 300tons of cargo per hour and 14 containers per hour, warehouse system, equipments…. The port is able to receive vessels and barges of 1.000-2.000 tons/year.

Nguyen Hoang Minh, General Director of Thanh Phuoc Port JSC said that along with its main function of loading/unloading general cargo and container for import-export activities, Thanh Phuoc port have many added services as warehousing, distribution center, empty container yard, container repair, customs services and transportation services both on land and on waterway, making a perfect supply chain. With the above services, the port contributes to promoting the development of Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and the southern part of Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands)
More than 100,000 tons of rice, cement, wheat…were transported through Thanh Phuoc port after its two-month operation. So far, many enterprises have signed long-term cooperation agreements with Thanh Phuoc port. The port is urgently forwarding construction of additional warehouse systems for lease and others at enterprises’ demand.
Defining that container transportation service is a strong point of Thanh Phuoc port and it accounts for 70% of the port’s capacity, since Q3 2012, Thanh Phuoc Port JSC has linked with shipment companies and deep-water ports to build up preferential policies for clients in the domestic South-North route, from Thanh Phuoc port to HCM city-based ports and Hai Phong port and vice-versa.
From now until the end of the year, Thanh Phuoc port will boost marketing and linkage with international shipping companies to promote container transportation service for import-export activities. With a perfect supply chain, Thanh Phuoc port will help enterprises save around 10% of transport charge compared to which by land.
Calculations show that the birth of Thanh Phuoc Port contributes to increasing the circulation of goods by water, it will especially help with easing the transport of goods by road, contributing positively to reducing road traffic congestion, and by the same token, will help transport companies and importers and exporters operating in Binh Duong province and neighboring provinces to cut spending.
