Bach Dang pomelo is the common name for the famous pomelos of Bach Dang islet in Tan Uyen town. In 2011, Bach Dang pomelo was officially recognized as a collective mark owned by Farmers' Association of Bach Dang Commune. Visitors coming to Pomelo gardens on Bach Dang islet may not only enjoy delicious sweet pomelo fruit but also buy it as a gift for their family and friends.
According to the Organizing Committee, at the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to visit pomelo gardens and enjoy delicious dishes made from grapefruit, such as grapefruit rolls, grapefruit salad, grapefruit wine, pomelo tea, grapefruit jam. Besides, a cultural art program of “Don ca tai tu” will take place every day to serve tourists at restaurants within the festival. According to Vo Thi Bao Xuyen, Chairwoman of People's Committee of Bach Dang commune, the festival preparation was completed. Sports Culture - Community Activity Center in Bach Dang commune – the venue of festival - was basically finished; Tan Trach temple has also been completed, ancient house Do Cao Thua is ready to welcome visitors; “Don ca tai tu” performances and other programs are being thoroughly rehearsed. Although many pomelo growers wanted to participate in grapefruit product display at the festival, according to criteria of the Organizing Committee, the exhibited pomelo are from VietGAP pomelo growers. According to Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc (Bach Dang commune), the 1st Bach Dang Grapefruit Festival 2017 created the excitement for the people in Bach Dang when their pomelos were introduced widely. However, in 2017, due to the first time, the people had many confusing things. For the second time, the festival will be organized on a larger scale and is expected by many people. The festive joy will be mixed with the excitement when the flavor of their pomelos is introduced, especially when the 2019 spring is near.
