The bounce of Tan Binh

Ho Lang in Tan Binh ward, Di An town used to be the name causing terror to the French and American during the war. Ho Lang base molding unbeatable spirit of local people to fight against enemies in the past is now a highlight of economic development of Di An town.

Resilient base

In the two wars against the French and American, in the Southeast, Ho Lang was a name of revolutionary loyalty, indomitable spirit of the people here. Ho Lang was an extremely important strategic military location, where we were able to have an overview of Di An town and Bien Hoa city, and observe all activities of Bien Hoa airbase.

Before the August Revolution in 1945, Tan Binh ward (formerly was Tan Hiep and Binh Tri village) reclaimed land, built up villages. When the French invaded the land, local people took part in resistance movement against French. Thereby, local revolutionary movement constantly grew, contributed to national big victories, such as: the Southern uprising in 1940, then the general uprising, the August Revolution in 1945… During wartime, Tan Binh was selected as the revolutionary base and Ho Lang was an important base.

In 1971, Di An district People’s Committee’s base was located at Ho Lang to lead the revolutionary movement. Ho Lang base was sheltered by local people, became a place for revolutionary cadres to fulfill tasks.

Strong rise

Di An district People’s Committee’s former Secretary Mr. Nguyen Van Bao in wartime was one of the first persons to build and stick with Ho Lang base till the national reunification. He said: “It was a very hard time. However, thanks to the proper orientation of provincial Party, Ho Lang base was maintained and enhanced, became a firm foundation for revolutionary movement to grow”.

Urban face improvement has changed the former Ho Lang base.

At his eighty age, Mr. Bao thought he was so lucky to be able to witness breakthroughs of the old base. Ho Lang is now a highlight in economic development of Tan Binh ward. Continuing the tradition, Tan Binh people have unanimously moved forward under the Party flag to construct their hometown. From a poor agricultural locality, Tan Binh ward has changed with new systems of canal, dam, cultivated fields; advanced steadily on the path of development.

Although the locality has no advantages for industrial – service development, Tan Binh ward become one highlight of Di An town in economic development, improving people's lives. During a short time, the ward completed important projects of arterial roads, such as: Bui Thi Xuan, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai...

Along with the government, the people in the ward have contributed lands, workdays to construct roads. From 2010 to now, Tan Binh has also attracted thousands billion of investment from enterprises in 7 residential areas, improving urban face of the locality. In addition, thousands of houses, villas have emerged, making Tan Binh become the most crowded ward of Di An town. In the period of 2000-2009, population of the ward increased from 7,000 by 15,000, and by 40,000 in the end of 2014. This showed the appeal of this land.
