Morning Oct 16th, Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a solemn ceremony to inaugurate DT744 road. Attendants of the ceremony were Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Van Nhi, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Thanh Liem, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Party Mass Mobilization Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; and heads of agencies, sectors, localities, and local people.
The project of DT744 road has 46.5 km long from TDM City to Dau Tieng district with a total investment of more than VND1,458 billion. The road was designed with speed of 60 km/h; axle load of 12T; cross-section of 25m; 4 lanes; surfaced with hot asphalt. The road stretch crossing urban areas has separating strip of 1.5m; sidewalk of 5m on each side; drainage, lighting system, and green space.
Particularly, Nguyen Chi Thanh street with 5,947km long was designed according to urban road standards, cross-section of 30m, and adequate drainage, lighting system, green space. Ong Co bridge has completed the 1st stage with 466m long and 10.5m wide.
The DT744 road project was deployed into several stages with 5 project components. During the 1st stage, Department of Transportation – as the contractor – completed 3 projects: upgrading, expanding DT744 road from Km32 to Cau Cat; upgrading, expanding Nguyen Chi Thanh street; and DT744 road from Km6 - Km12.
In the next stage, 2 other projects will be executed: Ong Co bridge; upgrading, expanding DT744 road from Km12 - Km32. The stretch passing Phu Thu intersection will be started in early 2016.
Speaking at the ceremony, PPC’s Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Liem asserted, the DT744 expansion project contributed to connecting TDM City with Dau Tieng district and Thanh An industrial park in order to attract investments in ecotourism along Saigon River and historic Iron Triangle tunnels, Cu Chi tunnels, Kien An forest of Cau Mountain; simultaneously developing Dau Tieng district as green, clean and beautiful urban area, an example of new rural construction.
