In the afternoon of November 1, the provincial People's Committee held a press conference to provide information on the regular socio-economic situation in October 2022. Nguyen Tam Duong - Chief of Office of provincial People's Committee and Le Van Khanh - Deputy Director of Department of Information and Communications chaired the meeting.

Overview of the meeting

The report at the press conference said that in October 2022, the province's socio-economic situation continued to develop stably. For the whole 10 months, the industrial production index, export turnover, foreign investment attraction, and domestic business registration capital increased sharply over the same period.

As of September 30, districts, towns and cities have basically disbursed to complete the policy of supporting rent for employees according to Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TTg. The COVID-19 epidemic, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease decreased compared to the previous month; the health sector is focusing on monitoring the spread and accelerate the progress of vaccination against COVID-19 for eligible subjects. As of October 30, the province has injected 7,466,100 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, of which, 1st doses were 2,840,756, 2nd doses 2,458,245, 3rd doses 1,787,748 and 4th doses 379,351.

At the press conference, representatives of agencies and press units mentioned issues such as the plan to accelerate the investment progress of the province, implementation, site clearance of Vanh Dai 3, the end of the investigation of the An Phu karaoke fire case, local social security issues,solutions to the state of the labor market, reduction of personnel, and the actual situation of labor at the end of the year among others.

Speaking at the press conference, Nguyen Tam Duong said that in the month, the provincial People's Committee continued to focus on directing and supporting enterprises to recover and develop production and business to remove difficulties and obstacles related to public investment projects, to accelerate the progress of provincial planning and the prevention of COVID-19 epidemic, and prevention and control of dengue fever, administrative procedure reform, and digital transformation. The province's socio-economic situation continues to develop stably.

In the coming time, the province will continue to closely monitor the market and commodity prices to ensure the balance of supply - demand of essential commodities for production and consumption. The province will continue to monitor the situation of petroleum reserves and supply, remove drawbacks and obstacles for businesses and employees, especially enterprises in the furniture, textile and footwear industries, continue to promote effective ways in mobilizing resources for investment in transport infrastructure such as Vanh Dai 3, Vanh Dai 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Highway, and effectively implement social security policies and sustainable poverty reduction.
