If Binh Duong New City was not formed up with the Integrated Administration Center as a highlight, Tan Uyen town’s two communes of Phu Chanh and Vinh Tan would still face difficulties in economic development.
Trade, services on strong development
Before 2005, Phu Chanh and Vinh Tan were agricultural communes with more than 90% of residents earning their living by farm doing. They were also fierce battlefields in war time.

The image of the two poor communes are changing obviously. Phu Chanh commune is now home to 356 households getting involved in trade and services. The figure has so far amounted to 295 in Vinh Tan commune. All shows that the two localities have made a lot of considerable changes in trade and services.
Next to Binh Duong New City with six industrial parks, Phu Chanh and Vinh Tan have become a hub of lodging-houses, supplying accommodations for more than 100,000 laborers. Since 2005, as many as 9,000 lodging houses have been built in the two localities along with the development of other services.
According to Doan Minh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of Vinh Tan communal People’s Committee, Phu Chanh and Vinh Tan communes are special communes of Tan Uyen town. The birth of Binh Duong New City has made the two locality become environs and laborers have rushed here for living and working, creating trade opportunities, opening up profitable services.
Great expectations for the future
Possibly speaking, Vinh Tan and Phu Chanh communes have taken full advantage of the role of provincial Industrial-Services-Urban Complex in the local economic development. There has been a quick shift in the local land using structure.
Phu Chanh was an agricultural locality with around 504 out of 815.44 hectares under farming doing before 2010. But now, there are around 25% of households earning their living by farm doing while the remaining households are known as “semi-agricultural ones”. This means that elderly people get involved in farming doing while young ones work for firms or set up their own trade-services facilities.
Meanwhile, Vinh Tan has reached a quick shift in the local land using structure. To Mr.Tu, this is an indispensable trend because the locality will uphold its advantages towards the growth of trade and services.
To date, there have been 62 investors registering to carry out projects at Vinh Tan commune-based industrial park. Among them, 9 are now operational, creating jobs for thousands of laborers. The commune has also absorbed 25 small and medium-sized companies outside the industrial park. Whilst, Phu Chanh has made a lot of promising steps. Phu Chanh 1 industrial compound of 138 hectares have been formed up with a robust growth, absorbing many investors.
Thanks to enjoying benefits from Binh Duong New City, Phu Chanh, Vinh Tan are changing day by day, contributing to improving the spiritual and material lives of the local people and opening up opportunities for immigrants to enjoy a peaceful life on the new land. This will help the two localities reach a sustainable and robust growth in the coming time.
