Thu Dau Mot city Farmers Society is home to more than 2,000 members and 76 branches and 17 clubs. Over the past years, along with mobilizing farmers to effectively implement works and key tasks, the society has encouraged members to develop economic models of urban agriculture that bring high results.
In order to help farmers develop household economy, the society has encouraged members to expand models of service business, to transfer farming and take advantage of local strength to improve their income.
In the past year, the society organized 84 training classes on technical science transfer with the participation of more than 2,500 members. Until now, 54 households have developed models of planting orchid, sprout vegetables and breeding ornamental fishes. Of these, Vo Tuan Kiet in Chanh Nghia ward has invested in more than 10,000 various ornamental fishes, bringing income about VND100mil per month.
