Part 1: Stature of provincial-level urban area
With advantage of a provincial level urban area and tradition of unity, Thu Dau Mot city party committee and administration and people of Thu Dau Mot determine to build this city into a civilized and modern city with overall achievements on all areas.
A solid foundation of infrastructure
Since Thu Dau Mot being recognized as the third class urban area in Jan. 2007, this city has showed a remarkable development. Thanks to the provincial administration’s investment, Thu Dau Mot city has formed up many belt roads linking with rural and national routes. This facilitates local socio-economic development, bringing an advantaged life for local residents.
Specifically, streets such as Nguyen Chi Thanh, April 30, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nguyen Tri Phuong and more have contributed importantly to development of residential areas.
Until now, the city has 21 new urban areas, 4 residential areas for low incomers, social house areas and more. Meanwhile, system of school, health station has been invested according to the national standards. The entire city now has 78.3% of schools having many floors, 63.3% of schools winning the national standards and many universities, high schools and primary schools.
Aside from investing in technical infrastructure, Thu Dau Mot city has always paid attention to poverty reduction, job placement, healthcare.
Quality of life considered as a main goal
Promoting the done achievements, Thu Dau Mot city will in the coming time grasp opportunities to develop stronger and deserve as Binh Duong province’s central urban area. On this foundation, Thu Dau Mot will focus on promoting advantage and potential of a central urban area to give priorities for developing hi-quality service and commerce, clean and hi-tech industry, ecological urban area and more.
Initially, this city will continue to perfect planning in combination with development of ecology, public traffic; to increase attraction and competition with the requirement of sustainable growth. Besides, the city will well implement planning management and urban order as well as preserve and promote cultural values of Thu Dau Mot land and people.
Along with economic growth, the city will pay more attention to education, training, socio-economic development. Accordingly, the municipal administration will continue to improve local resident’s awareness on significance, position, requirement of cultural development. This city will also focus on building civilized style of Thu Dau Mot people.
Reaching new height
After being recognized as the second class urban area in the end of 2014, Thu Dau Mot city has won 41 out of 49 criteria of the first class urban area. This is the result of unity of local administration, party committee and people.
From now till 2017 and the subsequent years, this city administration will focus on improving population and perfecting lighting system on all roads, developing new urban areas and more.
To reach the mentioned requirements, Thu Dau Mot city will continue to invest in synchronous infrastructure system and key projects, specifying some key traffic works including Tran Van On street, Le Van Tach road, Le Chi Dan street, lifting rate of clean using households, preventing flooding along Sai Gon River and so on.
