Thu Dau Mot City continues to focus on implementing urban development investment programs, creating a favorable environment, attracting investment in production and business operations.
In the sustainable development orientation, along with attracting high technology, advanced production, Thu Dau Mot also focuses on promoting the development of high-quality commerce and services. Priority is given to service sectors with high intellectual content, e-commerce, promoting financial investment, banking, and innovative technology. Local authorities also have high expectations for increasing the proportion of the service sector, which will have a positive impact and create momentum for industrial development.
Mr. Vo Chi Thanh said: "In the coming time, the city will promote commercial and service projects approved by the Provincial People's Committee on the plan to adjust the planning, develop the network of markets, supermarkets, and commercial centers of Binh Duong province by 2020. In which, the orientation of commercial and service land planning until 2030 with an area of nearly 495 hectares, increasing by over 99 hectares compared to the present; implementing 10 works, projects to focus on developing urban industry towards modern civilization in 2021-2025, orientation to 2025-2030, and vision to 2045.”
The city promotes, encourages, and supports organizations, individuals to participate in deploying models and using cashless payment applications at convenience stores, shopping centers, supermarkets, and markets to make breakthroughs in services, urban areas, e-commerce, and financial investment, towards smart cities. In which, the new city of Binh Duong will continue to play a core role.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that increasing the proportion of trade and services is a prerequisite for rapid and sustainable development, thereby leveraging strength to support industrial development more effectively. Currently, the three cities under the province, Thu Dau Mot, Di An, and Thuan An, have a lot of development potential and need a new breakthrough. The industry and trade sector will support Thu Dau Mot City to make a breakthrough in services, urban areas, e-commerce, and financial investment in accordance with the province's general planning.
To create a land fund for commercial and service development, Thu Dau Mot City continues to strongly implement the direction of converting industrial projects, relocating them to industrial zones and clusters. According to the implementation plan, from now until 2030, the appropriate relocation roadmap will be applied for each factory. In the immediate future, the city selects factories with demand to serve as pilot points and then expands for other factories to gradually transform their functions according to the planned scheme. Mr. Vo Chi Thanh added that the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City is coordinating with relevant sectors to establish criteria and some relocation policies for businesses operating outside industrial zones, clusters, creating conditions for businesses to transform their functions.
