Over the past time, Thuan An town-based sci-tech activities reaped good results with projects applied in production-business, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.
Realizing the important role of sci-tech application in the shift of economic structure and each sector, Thuan An town’s Party Committee has approved the Plan No.23-KH/TU dated May 20, 2013 putting forward targets, strategic solutions for sci-tech development to 2020 and vision to 2030.

Truong Cong Thach, Deputy Head of the town’s Division of Economics said that under the instruction and support of provincial Department of Science-Technology and the town’s People’s Committee, more and more projects have been approved. There have also been many individuals and organizations registering to take part in realizing sci-tech projects in the fields of agriculture, environment, intellectual property…
Since early 2012, the town has implemented 12 projects on sci-tech research with breakthrough results applied into fields, including those of “Developing orchards in association with management and use of Lai Thieu mangosteen collective brand name”; “Building, managing and developing Lai Thieu mangosteen collective brand name”…Mr.Thach added that most projects have been carried out in accordance with the set processes and received support from authorities at all levels and locals, due to having high reality in life.
Along with realizing a policy on socialization of sci-tech field, encouraging enterprises to be proactive to get involved in sci-tech research, apply results from this into production and business, the town has strengthened its sci-tech potential, opportunely executed policies on tapping and upholding sci-tech cadres’ capacity; take full advantage of support in terms of sci-tech potential from units in and out of the province…
Especially, the town has attached special importance to technological market development, sci-tech cooperation…, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to innovate their technologies, thereby increasing products’ competitiveness. The town has also set and extended major sci-tech programs and projects to serve the local sustainable socio-economic development.
It is known that over the past time, the town considered sci-tech development as a core political task. Hence, the town assigned cadres the task of seeking solutions to bring sci-tech advancements into life.
As planned, in the period of 2018-2020, the town will bend on carrying out major sci-tech programs to serve the local socio-economic development, including those of applying information technology into State administration in communes, wards...; applying solutions to renovate technologies and equipment, step by step enhancing technological development among enterprises…The town will also set optimal solutions to implement projects in education, agriculture…; apply advanced technologies in waste treatment at hospitals, clinics…
