Since early this year, Thuan An town’s economic targets have continued reaching growth. The town has also fulfilled a scheme suggesting the Ministry of Construction to recognize it as a second-class city, contributing to promoting the local urban development.
Economic growth
Thuan An town’s industrial production value in the first half of 2017 was estimated at more than VND9.72billion, up 8.25% compared to the same period 2016. Of that amount, the domestic investment sector saw a growth of 8.6% while the foreign investment sector rose by 9.2%. The town’s total output of power consumed was estimated at 765.774million kWh at industrial, construction and service sectors’ demand.

The town’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at VND21.32billion, up 18.76% against the corresponding period last year. Over the past time, the town also made efforts in ensuring the local urban order and traffic safety.
Additionally, the town tightened control over market, fake and poor-quality products, food hygiene and safety; imposed a total fine of VND656million on 62 wrong cases and confiscated illegal commodities worth VND108million.
Concentrating on urban development
Thuan An town fulfilled a scheme on recognizing it as a second-class city and the scheme was approved by the Ministry of Construction at Decision No.114/QD-BXD dated March 7, 2017.
The town also set up a plan on urban development for the period of 2016-2020 under the Resolution of the 11th local Party Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure; continued realizing the adjustment of land planning till 2020…
In the coming time, the town will continue perfecting socio-economic infrastructure; boost investment in urban infrastructure in accordance with criteria of a second-class city; continue effectively carrying out management regulations on urban architecture till 2020, set up a scheme on adjustment of the overall urban development plan to 2020 and vision to 2030; map out a plan on urban rejuvenation; work with Binh Duong Water Supply-Drainage and Environment One-Member Co.Ltd. to carry out a project on waste water treatment and collection…
Nguyen Van Chau, Chairman of Thuan An town’s People’s Committee added that from now till 2020, the town will bend on developing public traffic systems, in which green space development will be attached special importance to.
