Thuan An city’s overall development plan is being adjusted in line with the socio-economic development conditions of the locality, the socio-economic development plans of the province, the development plans of the region and the development plans of other related sectors. The city has approved the zoning plan of 9 wards and the new-style urban construction plan of An Son commune. These plans will be the foundation for the local management and implementation of functional zones as planned.

Thuan An city gets more and more civilized, modern
Since early this year, the city’s People’s Committee has mobilized all resources for urban development with considerable results, thereby contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development and improving the lives of the local people. The city has also paid more attention to material facilities in terms of education, health, culture, trade-services…, well meeting the local people’s needs.
In 2017, Thuan An was recognized as a third-class Labor Medal. In January 2020, Thuan An city was officially set up and so far, it has basically met criteria of the second-class city. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of Thuan An city’s People’s Committee said that over the past years, the city’s Party, government and people made efforts in urban development and construction. From an agricultural district, Thuan An has till now become a city under the management of the province, basically meeting criteria of the second-class city. Becoming a city is the new opportunity for the development of Thuan An, especially locals who will enjoy a better life in the future. This will also create an important premise for Thuan An to speed up the local process of urbanization towards civilization and modernity; is also the foundation for it to further perfect the local overall plan on urban development to 2020, vision to 2030 as well as absorbing investment projects to improve the scale and quality of urban development and the effectiveness of urban management.

From 2014 to 2015, Thuan An city approved the functional zoning of communes, wards in association with the local overall development plan. The city is now home to new urban areas, namely An Phu Hung, Eco Xuan Lai Thieu, Vinh Phu I, Viet-Sing, Goucoland. There are also many new architectural works like AEON Mall Binh Duong, Lotte, Minh Sang Plaza, Becamex International Hospital, Colombia International Hospital…, well meeting the local people’s needs and contributing to creating highlights of the local urban architecture.
Since 2016, the city has developed additional 56 housing projects with a total area of 143.76 hectares, contributing to meeting the local people’s demand for housing while strengthening the local urban rejuvenation and housing development. According to statistics, the city’s total floor area is around 23.3 square meters per person. The city has also approved the detailed plans for 8 resettlement areas with 8.3 hectares. So far, the city has fulfilled the construction of infrastructure for 3 resettlement areas, including the resettlement areas of Binh Dang, Binh Duc 1 quarters in Binh Hoa ward; the resettlement area of Hoa Lan 2 in Thuan Giao ward.
Mr.Tam said that the development of new urban and residential areas in the city has contributed to changing the local urban image, promoting economic development, improving the lives of locals, greatly contributing to the local urban development process.
