Upholding the local advantages on geographic position and existing potentials, Thuan An town’s Party, government and people have effectively tapped all resources for socio-economic development. Along with maintaining its continuous economic growth, the town has focused on trade-service development at the local development requirement and in accordance with the province’s overall plan.

Advantages well upheld
Thuan An town has effectively upheld its advantages on geographic position in the local economic development. Till the end of the 2010-2015 tenure of the town’s Party Committee, locals’ income is estimated at around VND74mln per capita per year. Economic structure is 70.5% in industry, 29.2% in services and 0.3% in agriculture. Total annual value of services is estimated to rise by 16.8%...
The town’s People’s Committee has also created favorable conditions for economic sectors to make investment in markets, supermarkets and plazas. So far, there have been 24 markets licensed and put into operation together with 12 supermarkets and trade centers, including Lotte, Canary, Aeon…The town has also fulfilled its plaza and supermarket network till 2020.
Besides, many other fields like banking, post-telecommunications, transportation, logistics, insurance…have reached a rapid and diversified development.
Ho Quang Diep, Chairman of Thuan An town’s People’s Committee said that during the 2010-2015 period, the town has bent on raising the proportion of service sector in the local economic structure, especially attached special importance to promoting hi-quality services that will effectively serve enterprises, organizations and individuals’ production-business requirements and help stabilize locals’ lives.
Mobilizing resources for investment
For the local trade-service sector obtaining a stable and strong growth, Thuan An town will continue effectively tapping advantages on geographic position, mobilize all resources to develop socio-economic infrastructure, creating the foundation for it to become an urban and service center after 2020.
The town will also pay attention to developing urban agriculture in a synchronous way; associate economic development with maintaining political security and social order, helping people and enterprises feel secure for their production and business investment; strive to fulfill criteria of a third-class city by 2020.
According to Mr.Hiep, Thuan An town will create favorable conditions for economic sectors to make investment in services with hi-economic efficiency, especially those for industrial manufacture or on power supply, post-telecommunications, transportation, banking, human resource training…
The town will also well tap its potentials and promote tourism services at city dwellers and workers’ demand for entertainment; build Lai Thieu trade-service and apartment complex; well manage and tap markets, promote trade-services in association with ensuring order-security, environmental hygiene, contributing to building a healthy and civilized business environment…
Such these apart, the town will pay attention to restoring Lai Thieu fruit trademark, maintaining the local area of orchards, improving their productivity and quality to foster ecotourism models, increasing locals’ income and stabilizing their lives.
