Economic structure shift towards industrialization
In 2011, Thuan An town’s economic structure moved on the
right track with the respective proportions of industry, trade & services
and agriculture at 73.35%, 26.29% and 0.36%. 
Thuan An town is focusing on promoting urban development and rural infrastructure
The town’s industrial production was estimated at more than VND51.67trillion, up 18% compared to that of 2010. The total retail sales revenue for commodities and service reached nearly VND13.39trillion, up 25% against that of 2010.
Also in 2011, Thuan An town granted 3,340 business registration certificates for households mainly getting in trading and lodging business with a total capital of VND615bln; teamed up with provincial Department of Industry and Trade to bring Vietnamese goods to the local people.
Thuan An town also attached special importance to the field of urban development in order to promote the local industrial and service development. Accordingly, the town made public its overall plan on socio-economic development till 2020, a draft plan on building the new rural region of An Son commune.
Besides, the town built the Regulation on management of urban architecture and a plan to realize the town’s Party Committee’s Action Plan 06/CTr/TU dated on August 15, 2011 on infrastructure development in the 2011 and 2015 period and vision till 2020; rechecked and cut down public investment of VND35.75bln.
Regarding projects under the local management, Thuan An town implemented the volume of VND535.1bln. The town also hastened the construction process of Gia Long street, Nguyen Thai Binh secondary school, Binh Hoa intercommunal cultural-sports center …; worked out 25 out of 31 rural traffic and rejuvenation works capitalized at VND39.3bln.
Thuan An town also mainly solved queries on compensation and site clearance to hasten the process of basic construction works.
Industrial development associated with urban planning
Do Thanh Tam, chairman of Thuan An town’s People’s Committee said that the town has set the targets for 2012 and measures to implement them.
Thuan An town will strive to reach VND59.426trillion in industrial production value, up 15% compared to that of 2010. The domestic investment sector accounts for 25% of total while the foreign investment sector accounts for 75% of total.
Noticeably, the town will enhance the quality of industrial development; associate industrial development with urban planning, modern infrastructure and restrict the development of enterprises outside industrial parks and compounds.
Mr.Tam added that Thuan An town is mobilizing all forces to turn it into a new city with all-round development towards prosperity, civilization and modernity.
