Over the past time, Thuan An town well realized its development orientations for trade- services, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to promote these fields. This contributed to raising the proportion of trade-services in the local economic structure.
Upholding potentials
South Korea’s giant retailer Lotte Mart opened its shopping center of 21.300sq.m in Thuan An town with a total investment capital of nearly US$30mln. Along with the three-storey shopping center, many banks, hospitals, shopping centers, tourist sites…have loomed large across the town, contributing to promoting the local trade and services sectors.
In the first half of
2014, the town’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was
estimated at VND11.03trillion, up 18.6% compared to 2013. The town also granted
1,900 business registration certificates for individual business households. 
The birth of Lotte Mart Binh Duong has contributed to satisfying the local people’s demand for shopping.
The above results showed that the town’s trade-services sectors have been on robust growth. So far, the whole town has had more than 20,000 individual business households and more than 1,200 enterprises getting involved in trade-services together with more than 30 trade centers, markets and supermarkets.
Thanks to having its favorable geographic position, the town has a great potential for trade-services development, according to Ho Quang Diep, Chairman of the town’s People’s Committee. The town’s main streets have been invested in a methodical way, contributing to promoting the local sustainable development. All have created favorable conditions for the development of the town’s trade-services sectors with the birth of shopping centers, services on banking, tourism, technology… In the coming time, the town will further boost services at the local people’s increasing demand for shopping.
Attaching special importance to sectors with high concentration of grey matter
An Son dock warehouse invested by Thanh Le General Import - Export Trading Corporation – One member Ltd. is being building. Once completed, the dock warehouse will contribute to promoting the local trade-services sectors.
Other advantage is that Thuan An town has famous Lai Thieu orchards plus many effective eco-tourism models from orchards, namely Bay Sua, Ut Trung, Ba Tam, Hong Van…They are the ideal places for communes along Saigon river to develop the model of eco-tourism. Besides, the town has called for enterprises to make investment in other projects to stimulate the demand for the local trade-services sectors towards sustainable development.
Thuan An town is implementing its development plan on supermarket, market and trade center system for the 2011 and 2015 period and orientations till 2020. According to Mr.Diep, the town focuses on well realizing hi-quality service programs between 2011 and 2015 and vision till 2020, especially attach special importance to promoting sectors with high concentration of grey matter. The town considers this as an important program to foster hi-quality trade-services sectors, aiming to make a quick and sustainable shift of the local economic structure towards the growth of trade-services, contributing to improving the local people’s quality of life.
