Early July 30, a delegation of provincial Steering Board of Collective Economic Renewal and Development, led by Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, had a working session with Thuan An town about the renewal and development of the local cooperatives and their activities.

In the first half of the year, the whole town had a total of 47 cooperative groups with 494 members, up 25 and 244 in number of groups and members compared to last year’s corresponding period and 10 farmers’ clubs with 353 members. There were also 10 cooperatives in terms of transportation, trade-services and industrial manufacture with 179 members together with 2 credit funds with 18,700 members. Estimatedly, town-based cooperatives reached more than VND20bln in total revenue in the first half of the year.
Addressing the working session, Mr.Liem acknowledged the efforts by Thuan An town in improving and fostering the local collective economics while putting forward some tasks and solutions that the town needed to carry out in order to develop the local collective economic models.
