At present, 15 farmer households under the Club for safe vegetable production in Thuan An town's Thanh Binh quarter have entered their harvest season. This is a pilot model of safe vegetable production in the town. Many farmers assessed that this is a high efficient model.
Noi's safe vegetable garden.Doan Van Noi, member of the club, said "my family has an over 5,000sqm vegetable area. Thanks to capital assistance from the State, we feel secure in production. I hope that my vegetable garden will bring a high profit". Lastly, Noi harvested 2 tons of cucumber and gumbo with a price of VND7,000/kg. He will reap over VND50mil from the vegetables.
Tens of thousands of vegetables such as bitter melon, cucumber, gumbo... have presently been in good development at Thanh Binh quarter. The model has been set up since June, 2012 with a capital of VND300mil from Fund for farmers.
On average, each farmer household enjoys a supportive capital of VND20-30mil. In addition, Thuan An town Farmers' Society in collaboration with local plant protection station and health station opens training classes on scientific transfer for local farmers.
Huynh Van Long, vice chairman of the town farmers' society said the model has brought a high efficiency and it will be expanded.
