Thuan An town’s economy in 2016 continued gaining stable growth. Noticeably, the town’s targets on industrial manufacture, trade-services and State budget collection reached and exceeded the yearly plan. These results will be the premise for the town to fulfill its plan on socio-economic development in 2017.

Stable growth
The town’s industrial production value in 2016 was estimated at more than VND179.4trillion, up 9% compared to 2015. Whilst, the town’s total retail sales of commodities and services reached VND35.6trillion, up 23.2% over 2015. The town’s State budget collection was also estimated at more than VND3.2trillion, up 11.17% against 2015. In terms of agriculture, the town’s production value was VND267.5billion, down 6.2% compared to 2015.
Leaders of the town mobilized all resources to invest in socio-technical infrastructure towards urban development while fully working out a Project suggesting higher authorities to recognize the town as a third-class city. The town also opportunely deployed key projects. In 2016, the town’s total value of socio-technical infrastructure works implemented was more than VND352billion. Many major projects, including Thuan Giao secondary school, Tran Quoc Toan 2 primary school, Vinh Phu 38 street, Binh Nham 82 street, An Son commune’s Cultural Center for the phase 2…, were also completed. Besides, the town basically treated 13 spots with waterlogging.
Nguyen Van Chau, Chairman of Thuan An town’s People’s Committee said that right from early 2016, the town’s People’s Committee focused on instructing sectors and authorities at all levels to realize targets of the province and the town on socio-economic development, national defence-security. Upon this, the town’s economy continued obtaining stable growth. Noticeably, the town’s targets on industrial manufacture, trade-services and State budget collection reached and exceeded the yearly plan. The local economic structure was also shifted in the right direction.
Urban infrastructure on robust development
In 2017, Thuan An town will continue selectively absorbing investment projects. The town will focus on well deploying solutions to remove difficulties regarding land for business; promote services, especially ones on post-telecommunications, transport, housing, tourism…in association with industrial parks; attach special importance to forming up a diversified and ample trade network, supplying locals with essential commodities; continue implementing a plan on fostering markets, supermarkets, plazas in the period of 2016-2020 and a plan on hi-quality trade-services development; be resolute to eradicate street markets…
In terms of agricultural sector, the town will deploy the town’s Party Committee’s Program No.07/CTr-TU dated April 15, 2016 and the town’s People’s Committee’s Plan No.1216/KH-UBND dated July 22, 2016 on developing urban agricultural models, maintaining and improving the quality of orchards in association with tourism development; carry out support policies for orchards with speciality fruits in the period of 2017-2021; maintain and enhance the quality of criteria of An Son new rural commune.
To fulfill the set plan, the town will continue investing in socio-economic infrastructure and effectively carry out public investment with priority ensured. According to Mr.Chau, the town will give priority to providing capital for projects under its public investment plan for the 2016-2020 period, well deal with a shortage of classrooms, make proper capital arrangement in order to solve partial urban waterlogging…
