The town-based industrial parks were basically covered by investors. The production value of domestic businesses in the town was estimated at VND60.18billion, up 8.8% compared to 2016. The value saw strong growth in industries of food processing, footwear, garment…In the local production value structure of domestic businesses, there were 9 sectors accounting for a great proportion, including food processing with 19%, beverage processing with 12%, metal production with 13.4%...
For FDI businesses, their production value was estimated at more than VND135.43trillion, up 9.1% against 2016. They occupied 69.2% of the town’s total industrial production value. Some industries of food and beverage, footwear, electronics…gained growth in terms of production value. There were 11 industries of food and beverage, electronics, garment… accounting for a great proportion in the production value structure of FDI businesses with 17%, 9.5%, 8.5%...
Phan Thanh Duc, General Director of Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Company in Thuan An town’s Binh Hoa ward said that his company now has 4 plants with 100% of products for export. On average, the company generates 4.8 million products per year. The company’s annual export turnover reaches more than US$ 60million and the figure in 2017 is estimated at US$62million.
In 2018, the town will strive to secure more than VND213.21trillion in industrial production value, up 9% against 2017. The town will give priority to developing spearheading and auxiliary industries…
Trade-services with high growth
Truong Cong Thach, Deputy Head of Thuan An town’s Division of Economics said that the town’s sector of trade-services in 2017 continued gaining stable development. The town’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at VND43.8trillion, up 23% against 2016.
The town is now home to around 30,000 households getting involved in trade-services, 5 supermarkets and 7 plazas (namely Aeon, Minh Sang, Lotte..) and 24 markets.
In 2018, the town will strive to achieve more than VND53.87trillion in total retail sales revenue of commodities and services, up 23% compared to 2017. The town will continue calling for economic sectors to make investment in trade-services, especially attach special importance to promoting hi-quality services with high added value in association with industrial and urban development for the period of 2016-2020 and vision to 2030.
In addition, the town will continue realizing civilized trade, including setting up a plan on clearing away street markets. The town will also map out a plan on inspection of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and chemicals shops’ implementation on the State’s regulations…
