In the first nine months of 2014, Thuan An town’s trade-services sector reached a stable growth with total retail sales revenue of commodities and services estimated at VND18.6trillion, up 18.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2013.
The whole town now has a total of 24 operational markets licensed and a concentrated sales point of Tan Phuc Loc Private Enterprise at Ba Van market with 65,597 cubic meters in total; 3 supermarkets with 3,105 square meters in total and 7 plazas with 42,021 square meters in total.
Bung and Lai Thieu markets are controlled by the People’s Committees of An Thanh and Lai Thieu wards, respectively. Binh Hoa 1 market is now under the control of Binh Hoa market control and trading cooperative while the remainder are controlled by private enterprises.
During the period, Thuan An town also excelled at eradicating street markets, contributing to ensuring the local traffic order and safety. It is known that the town’s Division of Economics has teamed up with the People’s Committees of wards, communes and Management Boards of town-based markets to arrange 360 booths selling essential commodities at the local people’s demand for shopping during the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.
