As an agricultural locality with difficulties, Thuan Giao has made great changes thanks to industrialization. Thuan Giao will become one of Thuan An town’s wards with the strongest urbanization in the future.
Change thanks to industrialization
The rapid development of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (IP) and Viet Huong IP in Thuan Giao ward has absorbed hundreds of thousands of immigrant laborers. This is also a good opportunity for the local people to do business in order to improve their lives. Noticeably, the whole ward only has 106 people getting involved in agricultural production. 81% of the ward’s population now get involved in industrial manufacture and 17.9% of total number of laborers herein relating to services.
Thuan Giao ward’s urban face sees a rapid change
Till now, Thuan Giao has become one of Thuan An town’s busiest wards. The whole ward has been overwhelmed with industrialization and urbanization, contributing to changing the local socio-economic development. Along with enterprises in VSIP 1 and Viet Huong IP, there are 273 enterprises across the ward. The ward now has 2 markets, 2 trade centers and several large-scale business facilities.
The proportion of industrial manufacture in Thuan Giao ward now accounts for 74.5% of the local economic structure while the figure for agricultural production is 0.5%. This shows that Thuan Giao has completedly changed to a locality with robust growth in industrialization.
Good land…
The constant development of Thuan Giao ward has not only opened opportunities for locals to improve their lives, but also brought immigrants a good land for living and working.
In fact, Thuan Giao ward, from 2000 to 2012, reached a rapid growth of population with 10%/year. Of these, 87.56% were immigrants in the working-age group. According to recent statistics, the ward-based firms have generated jobs for more than 70,000 immigrant laborers. Lodging facilities have also loomed large across the ward. So far, the whole ward has developed 1,039 lodging facilities to meet the housing demand for immigrant workforce.
Thuan Giao will become a good land for many people to sort out for living and working under its plan on urban development till 2020 to be submitted to Thuan An town’s People’s Committee for approval. In addition to some existing residential estates, Thuan Giao will further foster more urban estates along key streets such as Binh Duong Avenue, Thu Khoa Huan…This will help Thuan Giao’s urban face get more modern and civilized.
Possibly speaking, Thuan Giao ward is one of Thuan An town’s bright spots regarding health-education development. The ward now has Columbia Asia international hospital, Thuan Giao general clinic and 6 private clinics with 17,276 sq.m in total. In terms of education, the facility 2 of Binh Duong University for Economics and Technology has been operated in the ward in early 2013. In addition to Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College, the ward is now home to a vocational training and employment creation center. The ward-based public schools have been invested methodically. The ward also has 2 big private schools, namely Duc Tri and Hoang Dieu…
Nguyen Van Trung, Chairman of Thuan Giao ward’s People’s Committee said: “We now call for many resources to promote the local economic development. With its success in the industrialization period, Thuan Giao will see development in terms of urban space, health-education sevices and trade to improve the living quality of residents herein”.
