For a sustainable development in the future, Binh Duong province has developed and deployed Binh Duong Smart City Project. Accordingly, the province aims at a high value-added economy; infrastructure was planned synchronously to improve people lives and turn towards a knowledge economy. Along with the focus on socio-economic development, the province has always paid attention to renovation and cooperation, actively creating breakthroughs in each specific field; At the same time, step up administrative reform, improve the state management and administration capacity, and create favorable conditions for departments, branches and enterprises to step up the application and development of information technology to meet the demand for sustainable development and international integration of the province.
In order to concretize this breakthrough program, provincial leaders and Becamex IDC Corporation have invited experienced and potential partners to participate in the development of smart city project such as Taiwan Industrial Institute, large cooperates, Braintport (Netherlands), Philips, VNPT, FPT ...
Nguyen Van Hung, General Director of Becamex IDC, said that while participating in Binh Duong Smart City project, NTT EAST Corporation (Japan - through NTT Vietnam) would be join hands with VNTT – a subsidiary of Becamex IDC, to provide high quality services of telecommunications, information technology for customers in industrial and urban areas invested by Becamex IDC and VSIP Industrial Park Joint Stock Company in Binh Duong and other provinces and cities nationwide. Specifically, the members will cooperate to give human resource training, transfer technology management, operation and exploitation of telecommunications, information technology systems to VNTT; Implement solutions to improve the quality of service provision for customers; Study the feasibility of building a second Data Center in Binh Duong to serve the industrial-service development of Binh Duong in the next phase.
Mr. Hung added that with experiences and strengths in information technology field, Becamex IDC believed that NTT EAST Group would quickly deploy its work as soon as possible. As the leading unit assigned by provincial People's Committee in implementing Binh Duong Smart City Scheme, Becamex IDC will direct and create the best conditions for VNTT to quickly implement the above programs. These contribute to accelerating the smart city project and improving the quality of services, building the technological infrastructure for Binh Duong sustainable development.
Mr. Yamamura, Director of NTT Higashinihon Company, said that in the cooperation between VNTT and NTT Vietnam, the company was aiming to provide services focusing on “cloud wifi" - a successful example of the company in Japan. The company will actively contribute to the urbanization process in Binh Duong province.
Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Memorandum of Understanding on implementing Binh Duong Smart City Project between Becamex IDC and NTT EAST Corporation was an important document in line with viewpoints, objectives and orientations of Binh Duong Smart City Scheme, brought basic advantages to Binh Duong province in the project implementation as well as joining World Technopolis Association (WTA). At the same time, this will be the legal foundation for Becamex IDC and NTT EAST Group to collaborate with Steering Committee, Executive Board of the Smart City Project to build the architecture platform and information technology infrastructure with synchronous information, interconnected, multi-dimensional network; To ensure solutions of information technology, serving the process of shaping and developing Binh Duong smart city.

Due to the trend of globalization and international integration of our country, in recent years, Binh Duong province has made efforts to promote cooperation, exchanges with many localities in other countries, participate in many international activities to promote a dynamic and friendly image of Binh Duong. Recently, Binh Duong province officially joined WTA and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Binh Duong provincial People's Committee and Daejeon City (Korea) and WTA on co-hosting the WTA 2018 with a series of events that will take place in October in Binh Duong, such as the 11th WTA General Assembly, Hi-Tech Fair, Global Innovation Forum 2018.
According to Provincial People's Committee Chairman Tran Thanh Liem, Binh Duong’s membership of WTA and the determination to build Binh Duong smart city will be the motivation, an opportunity, important foundation for the Party, government, people and business community in the province strive to overcome all difficulties; build Binh Duong province into a civilized and modern urban center with sustainable development in the coming time.
Kang Byeong Ju, Secretary-General of WTA, said that since 2005, Daejon and Binh Duong have established a friendly relationship; so far two localities have cooperated with each other. He hoped that Binh Duong, through the host of WTA 2018 on occasion of the 20th anniversary of the association, would contribute to bringing Binh Duong provincial image to WTA members, helping the province to become the leading locality in building smart city in Southeast Asia.
