Binh Duong provincial People's Committee has just directed the relevant sectors to focus on controlling the African swine fever epidemic and to provide technical support to farmers and apply biosafety breeding to ensure a stable food supply for the market during the Lunar New Year of 2022. For households and livestock farms with infected pigs disease, they should destroy and be encouraged not to re-herd but switch to poultry and other livestock such as cows, goats etc.
The provincial People's Committee assigned Department of Industry and Trade to request supermarkets in the area like CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company of Binh Duong Branch, Vietnam Animal Industry Limited Company (Vissan) and Feddy Co. Ltd. to participate in the market stabilization for pork products in the province and commit to ensure the quantity and sell at the registered stabilized price of 5-10% lower than the market prices.
In terms of supply, it is expected that the number of livestock and poultry to be supplied to the market in the period before, during and after the Lunar New Year in 2022 in the locality including buffalo and beef of 2,340 tons a month; pork 7,800 tons a month; poultry meat 3,750 tons a month; and poultry eggs 41.6 million eggs a month.
