On 25 Oct, Department of Industry and Trade held a seminar to collect ideas and suggestions on the project of enhancing the localization, technology and intellectual content in key export products and support services in Binh Duong province in the period 2018-2020 and until 2025. Attending the workshop were representatives of departments, universities, colleges and leaders of industry associations in the province.
At the seminar, a team of experts from HCMC Polytechnic University reported the survey results of a number of enterprises in Binh Duong province on intellectual management, technological capacity and localization rate. This was a basic evaluation step for the formulation of a strategy to increase localization rate, intellectual and technological capacity of enterprises in four manufacturing industries (mechanics, electronics, textiles, and ceramics) and two support services (logistics and training) in the province. In order for the above-mentioned manufacturing industries and supporting services to develop sustainably, the board proposed 4 specific strategies: Continue to improve the business environment; improve knowledge management capacity; enhance links between domestic enterprises and FDI enterprises; improve technology capacity for businesses.
At the seminar, the delegates gave opinions on the directions should be focused on in order to get closer to the actual situation, from which to propose to Provincial People's Committee the development policies suitable to industries and ensure the overall project objectives.
