At the meeting, Nguyen Van Loi summarized the development of Binh Duong province; the Covid-19 prevention and control; some development orientations of the province in the coming time. According to the Provincial Party Secretary, over the past 20 years, Binh Duong and Singapore have made breakthroughs in cooperation and development, notably the construction of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Parks in Binh Duong and many other provinces, cities in the country.
Up to now, Singapore accounts for 1/5 of the total FDI capital invested in Binh Duong, with 260 enterprises, including large corporations that have invested, operated effectively and successfully in the province. The Party Secretary hoped that the Ambassador, in his position, would continue to develop the cooperation relationship between Singapore and Binh Duong more effectively, especially in building an innovation region, smart city, investment in industrial, urban, service infrastructure... The Party Secretary claimed that the province would create all favorable conditions for Singapore businesses to invest successfully in Binh Duong.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore also affirmed that he would do his best to further develop the special relationship between Singapore and Binh Duong. The Ambassador pledged to create all favorable conditions for more and more Singaporean businesses to invest in Binh Duong. The Ambassador appreciated Binh Duong's achievements in combating the pandemic, which prove the province's the effective leadership as well as the persistence of the people in the fight against the pandemic.
Jaya Ratnam believed that in the coming time, the cooperation relationship between Binh Duong and Singapore would gain even more outstanding developments, and at the same time gave details of the cooperation orientations between the two sides, making practical contributions to the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relation; 10 years of the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership in 2023.
