Solving many local jobs
At present, Ben Cat town has 8 operating cooperatives with 160 members, total charter capital of VND40.820 billion. The cooperatives have created jobs for many local workers with an average income of VND7 - 8 million / person / month. In addition, the town has 13 cooperative groups with 132 members, operating mainly in the field of agriculture such as animal husbandry, crop cultivation...

According to Vo Tran Da Thao, Deputy Director of Ben Cat Town Economic Chamber, besides mobilizing resources from members, cooperatives have actively sought other capital sources to develop production and business. Many cooperatives in the area have made practical contributions to the economic development, rural economic transformation and new rural construction in the town.
One of the key economic models is Thanh Long Cooperative (My Phuoc Ward, Ben Cat Township). The cooperative was established in 2003, has now 122 members, operates in the fields of construction, mechanical engineering, bridges, supply of construction materials, transport ... the average revenue from VND25 - 30 billion per year and create jobs for more than 120 laborers with an average income of VND7-8 million / month / person. Nguyen Van Dien, Director of the cooperative, said that in 2017, revenue and profit of the cooperative increased from 120 to 160% over the previous year. The cooperative innovated its production technology by selling old motorbikes and acquiring new machinery and technologies, thereby improving productivity and fuel economy.
Many solutions for collective economy to develop stably
However, according to the assessment, collective economy of Ben Cat Town still has difficulties. For example, some agricultural, transport cooperatives in the area operating under single-model service, so are limited in terms of capital, facilities, size, human resources... Most cooperative groups have small production scale, little capital, are not competitive with other economic sectors; most members in cooperative groups are not trained professionally...
As planned, in the future, Ben Cat town continues to mobilize affiliated groups to participate in cooperative groups; encourage cooperatives to transform their model under Law of Cooperatives 2012, cooperative groups to develop to cooperatives in the direction of industrial production and services. The town also encourages cooperatives to expand their non-agricultural business profile into new areas with high demands, such as environmental sanitation, market service, especially services for industrial zones...
Bui Duy Hien, Party Secretary of Ben Cat town, said that in order for collective economy to develop steadily in the coming time, the town continued to enhance the propaganda and dissemination of the Party and the State’s policies, regulations on collective economy, so that people can see benefits, preferences and support of the State when participating in collective economic forms.
