Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1068/QD-TTg dated August 22, 2019 approving the Intellectual Property Strategy until 2030 in Binh Duong Province, 2021-2025 period and vision towards 2030 (referred to as plan).
Accordingly, the goal of this plan is to strive to promptly meet requirements of organizations and individuals in guidance on establishing the rights of intellectual property objects, giving priority to provincial products under the program "each commune - one product"; raise organizations and individuals' awareness of the creation, management, exploitation, development and protection of intellectual property values for the following subjects: Industrial property rights, copyrights and rights related to copyrights, rights to plant varieties; improve efficiency of enforcement of intellectual property laws in the province. The number of applications for establishment of industrial property rights of individuals and organizations in the province increases averagely from 3 to 5% per year. The number of applications for plant variety protection by individuals and organizations in the province increases by an average of 3% per year.
Provincial Department of Science and Technology collaborates with relevant departments and branches to review, amend and supplement policies on intellectual property; strengthen the state management of intellectual property in fields of industrial property, copyrights, rights related to copyrights and rights to plant varieties; improve the effectiveness of enforcement of intellectual property rights. Provincial Department of Science and Technology promotes activities to create intellectual properties; encourage and improve the efficiency of intellectual property exploitation; develops intellectual property supporting activities, consolidate human resources for intellectual property activities; at the same time actively forms a culture of intellectual property in society, proactively cooperates and integrates internationally on intellectual property.
Department of Science and Technology is the leading agency to synthesize the implementation of the plan; advise, organize preliminary and mid-term assessment of the plan by 2025 and summarize by 2030; annually summarize the results and report to Provincial People's Committee.
