After half-way through the implementation of the Resolution of the city Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term on concentrating on developing transport infrastructure towards urbanization, building a smart city in the 2021-2025 with a vision to 2020. By 2030, the transport infrastructure of Tan Uyen city would have clear development with a vision to 2045. The system of roads connecting the region is well-invested and large-scale, which was one of the important levers contributing to bringing Tan Uyen to a city.

Doan Hong Tuoi, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Uyen city, said that identifying the importance of transport infrastructure in socio-economic development, Tan Uyen city took the initiative to go ahead in the development of the transport system, and the initiative in attracting investment and developing the economy. Specifically, Tan Uyen city Party Committee developed Program No. 32-CTr/TU dated October 20, 2021 on concentrating on developing transport infrastructure towards urbanization and building a smart city in the 2021-2025, with orientation to 2030, and vision to 2045.
In the past time, with the attention of the provincial People's Committee and the arterial roads connecting Tan Uyen city with districts, towns and cities in the province and with inter-provincial roads have been basically accomplished such as intersection at Ong Cu temple connecting with DT743 road to Thuan An - Di An - Bien Hoa and Thu Bien street - Green Gate to Vinh Cuu, Dong Nai on DT747b road, DT746 road, DT746 road connecting connecting with Thu Bien Green Gate, road DT742 connecting with Phu Giao district to Binh Phuoc. At the same time, a number of projects such as Bach Dang 2 bridge connecting Binh Duong with Dong Nai province and Vanh Dai 4 are being implemented by the provincial People's Committee. The projects will promote socio-economic development and inter-regional transport connection on their establishments.
The traffic works creating highlights in the area such as the upgrade and expansion of Phan Dinh Phung street (DH425), section from Rach Tre bridge to Tan Uyen City Party Committee for riverside road creating urban highlights, the upgrade of section in Phuoc Thai quarter, Thai Hoa ward of DT747b to asphalt, the upgrade of the riverside road in Bach Dang commune, the upgrade and expansion of traffic routes in 12 communes and wards, which have been paid attention to and completed.
Doan Hong Tuoi assessed that the investment in the development of transport and socio-economic infrastructure systems basically met the objectives of the program. Many infrastructure projects have been implemented and completed as planned, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development, national defense and security, and improving people's material and spiritual life.
Nguyen Thi Thuong, a resident of Tan Hiep ward, said: “Thanks to the State's attention to traffic infrastructure, the roads are increasingly open. Not only the main roads, but also rural roads and intra-field traffic are increasingly spacious and plasticized. The road is clear; the pavements are open; and, the face of the ward has changed completely. Accordingly, people's lives have also been significantly improved."
The new growth engine geared
Tan Uyen city determines that investment in transport infrastructure in the 2021-2025 is to focus on building, upgrading and expanding, gradually overcoming traffic jams on arterial roads to create a driving force for socio-economic development, especially of key roads; at the same time, it continues to develop urban transport infrastructure associated with urban embellishment.
Currently, the traffic and infrastructure projects in the city according to the provincial planning are 6 works, of which 5 have been and are being implemented. By 2025, all 6 works will be completed to open up new growth drivers for Tan Uyen city for generations to com. Tan Uyen city has selected key and prioritized projects out of the traffic projects that are being implemented according to the medium-term public investment schedule in the area to focus on allocating investment capital for actual implementation. Currently, it is speeding up the progress of upgrading and expanding roads of DH401, DH402, DH423, DH421, and DH418.
At the same time, the city continues to develop synchronous transport infrastructure including the waterway transport system, connecting with key transport projects of the province to form a continuous and open transport network expanding regional connectivity for best promoting its position as the focal point of the east-west traffic axis of the province.
