In order to strictly manage and guarantee a stable market, provincial Market Management Department inspect, supervise and strictly handle acts taking advantage of Covid-19 to gain illicit profits.

Consumers buy goods at a supermarket in the province.
To sanction many violations
In fact, the sudden increase in demand for facemask, hand wash, antiseptic water, and medical gloves has made these products always in scarcity, creating opportunities for small businesses to lift up price illicitly. Furthermore, in recent days, people have been flocking to shops and supermarkets to buy food, leading to a shortage of goods, the price increased averagely by 10 - 15% compared to normal day.
At pharmacies on Tran Van On Street, Phu Hoa Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, many people came to buy to buy medical masks. The price of this item has skyrocketed, up to 370,000 VND / box, while previously a box of normal medical masks was only 40,000 VND. This made many people disappointed and could not buy any articles. So far, most pharmacies have not had this product, even though on personal social pages there are numerous ads for medical masks sold at high prices.
Not only raising prices many times in order to gain unreasonable profits, there are also labeling violations of medical masks. Recently, Market Management Team No. 2 in collaboration with Economic police team of Thuan An City Public Security, Health Office conducted inspection of Tin Vien Vietnam Company in Hoa Lan 2, Thuan Giao Ward. The delegation confiscated 142,000 medical masks (42,000 ones branded Dong Thuan An Khang and 100,000 ones completely labeled in Chinese). The inspection team temporarily seized this batch, and issued a decision to penalize administrative violations of product labels, a fine of VND27,500,000, and required the company to fix labels on 142,000 masks.
Previously, an team of Market Management Team No. 2 and Di An City Economic police team inspected facemask manufacturing establishment owned by Cao Hoang Mai in An Binh ward. At the time of inspection, it was found that this establishment produced two types of medical mask branded Ngo Trung and Famima but did not register their business and did not disclose its quality. The inspection team temporarily seized 15,000 finished units of medical masks. Due to the complicated nature of this case, the inspection team agreed to assign the Economic police team to further investigate. During this time, Market Management Team No.1 also inspected Kim Phat medical equipment store on Binh Duong Boulevard, Phu Loi Ward, Thu Dau Mot City. The inspection team found that the shop's owner posted a price of 100,000 VND/box but actually sold 350,000 VND / box. The inspection team made a record of administrative violation and forced this shop to return the illegal profit of VND 32,750,000.
It can be noticed that in Binh Duong there are many people buying and storing foodstuffs, medical equipment, and essential goods, resulting in unreasonable collection, buying up, and price increase. However, thanks to the timely intervention of state management agencies, business establishments strictly observed regulations on fixing price and selling at the listed price. Meanwhile, supermarkets and shops imported more goods to serve the people; the supply of goods at supermarkets still meets consumers' demands, with stabilized prices.
To tighten the market
Tran Van Tung, Director of Provincial Market Management Department, said that based on the General Department of Market Management's directive, Provincial Market Management Department issued documents to direct departments and teams to boost communication and supervision of commercial activities on the market, especially food items, essential foodstuffs for daily life, medical masks, hand sanitizers; signing commitment to not raising prices, selling goods at the listed price, ensuring market stability; to actively cooperate with the authorities to communicate the prevention and control of diseases to people to secure social order and safety. Provincial Market Management Department also collaborated with Department of Industry and Trade to check conventional markets and commercial centers in the province to examine prices and the supply of goods, encourage businesses not to increase price, ensuring the supply of goods to serve people.
According to Mr. Tung, every day, six Market Management teams with 50 officials spread across the province to carry out inspection of the market, strictly handle violations that take advantage of the epidemic, the increasing demand for procurement and consumption to hoard goods. "Every day, we assign officials to closely monitor areas, the situation of medical supplies such as medical masks, hand sanitizers, then make reports. Although the work pressure is doubled compared to normal days, we are determined to handle violation cases", emphasized Mr. Tung.
