To focus on environment protection

In Bau Bang district, there are currently 2 operating industrial parks (Bau Bang Industrial Park and Tan Binh Industrial Park) and an expanding Bau Bang Industrial Park under investment. The area of industrial parks in Bau Bang district accounts for about 18.5% of the total area of industrial parks in the province. Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bau Bang district, said that the industrial parks in the district are divided into functional areas in a reasonable manner, ensuring conditions such as minimizing environmental pollution risks, facilitating prevention and response to environmental incidents, enhancing the ability to reuse, recycle waste, save energy, and promote industrial symbiosis.

Infrastructure facilities in concentrated production, business, and service areas must have an environmentally safe distance according to national technical standards to minimize negative impacts on the environment and ensure sustainable development of the area. Local authorities also encourage the establishment or conversion of concentrated production, business, and service areas according to the eco-industrial park model.

Representing the Management Board of Bau Bang Industrial Park, from the beginning of operation, businesses in the industrial park have planned sustainable environmental protection in the production process; developing measures for environmental protection for each source of waste such as dust, emissions, and waste; developing plans to respond to environmental incidents from low to high levels for submission to competent authorities for approval. Businesses are increasingly aware of the importance of green transformation in production activities.

Typical examples include Fine Chemical Co., Ltd. (Bau Bang Industrial Park) using clean raw plastic materials that meet import standards to produce shoes. The company uses modern machinery to produce without emitting pollutants into the environment. For waste products due to faulty items, the company grinds and reuses them for production, without releasing them into the environment. Similarly, Ampacs International Co., Ltd. (Bau Bang Industrial Park) specializes in manufacturing headphones, accessories, plastic components, focusing on improving technology and production systems to enhance product quality. The company's factories produce with a closed technology process from mold making, injection molding, printing, cables, headphone drivers to automatic packaging technology, contributing to minimizing negative impacts on the environment.

Clean tech priority

To address the harmonious relationship between economic development and environmental protection, Bau Bang district prioritizes attracting clean industries with low pollution, efficient use of resources and energy; attracting investment with a focus on developing key economic sectors; always creating favorable conditions for businesses to develop environmental protection plans; at the same time, arrange businesses in the same industry in a separate area to avoid environmental conflicts during production. In addition, the district also strengthens communication, dissemination, and awareness-raising for businesses and people about green industry; supports businesses in industrial zones to access preferential loans for technological innovation.

The district leader of Bau Bang stated that adjusting and amending legal documents in terms of decentralization and empowerment in environmental protection work in economic zones, industrial parks, and export processing zones for the Management Board of economic zones, industrial parks, and export processing zones is appropriate and in line with current trends. Along with that, it is very necessary to study the issuance of a list of industries with high environmental pollution risks and specific monitoring regulations for the discharge of waste into the environment by production facilities with high environmental pollution risks in order to contribute to reducing the risk of environmental pollution.

Mr. Vo Thanh Giau, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bau Bang district, said that the district is implementing the economic and social development planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision until 2050. In addition to integrating the general development orientations of the province for the Bau Bang area, the locality continues to maintain the goal of early building Bau Bang district into the northern industrial and urban center of the province, ensuring sustainable and green development.

According to the planning until 2030, in Bau Bang district will include industrial zones of Lai Hung, Bau Bang 3, Bau Bang 4, Bau Bang 5, Bau Bang 6, and Dau Tieng 4. 100% of the industrial clusters in the district operate with wastewater treatment systems that meet environmental standards.
