Recently, at a meeting between Mai Hung Dung, Vice Chairman of PPC, and Rakesh Naidu, General Director of Economic Development Commission of Windsor City, Canada, leaders of Binh Duong province and Windsor City discussed the cooperation on economic, educational and training, human resource, health field. Besides, Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association and Becamex IDC launched a trade and investment promotion program to help enterprises in looking for export opportunities to Canadian market as well as North American.
Cooperation in various fields
Windsor City bordering on America has a developed economy with seaports, airports... In addition, Windsor City has strengths in producing supply chain of car parts, food, education, health care.
At a meeting with Binh Duong province’s leaders, Rakesh Naidu, General Director of Economic Development Commission of Windsor City, Canada expressed his impression of the dynamic development of Binh Duong. Purposes of the visit were to learn more about investment environment and meet enterprises of Binh Duong province in order to exchange export opportunities to Windsor City market and help Binh Duong enterprises to penetrate North American market. He also wished to continue to cooperate with Binh Duong in many fields in the future.

At the meeting, Mai Hung Dung, Vice Chairman of PPC, hoped that after the visit, provincial enterprises could receive favorable conditions to promote trade activities in Canada in the near future. Also, the number of Canadian businesses, especially Windsor City, investing in Binh Duong would increase. Vice Chairman believed that the friendly cooperation relationship between Binh Duong province and Windsor City would develop more.
Export trade opportunities
Vo Son Dien, Chairman of Binh Duong Young Entrepreneurs Association said, due to strengths and development of Windsor City, Becamex selected Windsor in particular and Canada in general as partners. This will be a chance for provincial businesses to learn about market of Windsor City, Canada and even North American market.
At the meeting, companies from associations of industries, export, entrepreneurs in Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City learned about export market of Windsor City, Canada, and identified their own export capability to these markets.
Vuong Thuy Quynh, assistant director of Masza Marketing representative office in TDM City said: “After this meeting, we can see that export potentiality to the Canadian market is very high. We have 25-year experiences in exporting high-end furniture to America and Europe. Additionally, according to Rakesh Naidu, Cananda was adjacent to America, thus this is also an opportunity for our company to expand our market to Canada and North America”.
Vuong Sieu Tin, Director of Phuoc Du Long Company said, the company was specialized in ceramic product export. Europe is their main export market. This trade and investment promotion program is a chance for the company to learn more about export accommodative policies of Canadian Trade Association in Vietnam and export opportunities to Canada and North America, especially when Vietnam joins the TPP.
In the future, Windsor City will organize workshops to call for Canadian business’s investments in Binh Duong and simultaneously help Binh Duong businesses to access new markets.
With this friendly cooperative relation, Windsor City, Canada would be a gateway to Canada and North American market, contributing to enhance export turnover of Binh Duong in the future.
