Trade promotion activities boosted

So far, functional agencies and businesses in the province have organized a variety of trade promotion activities. The local business community has spent more investment on marketing and trade promotion activities at home and abroad.

Supporting businesses to seek trade opportunities

In May 2015, the province’s export turnover was estimated at more than US$1.41bln, up 4.1% compared to the previous month. The figure in the past five months was US$7bln, a year-on-year increase of 16.4% or 33.6% of the yearly plan.

The Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information under provincial Department of Industry and Trade since early this year has teamed up with business delegations and industries’ associations to attend 7 exhibitions and fairs at home and abroad. At the exhibition and fairs, province-based businesses have signed contracts exporting goods valued at US$93,000 into Middle East countries, England and Russia. The center together with 12 businesses in the domains of woodwork, lacquer, pottery and sculpture has also made a survey on Japanese market to promote trade activities.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of the center said that the center’s annual trade promotion programs have aimed to support province-based businesses to seek trade opportunities, promote products and expand their distribution channels. The center has also upheld its effectiveness in connecting businesses with foreign and domestic expos, contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of the local international integration programs.

Trade connection expanded

Europe, especially Germany is among top three big export markets of Binh Duong’s woodwork sector. The center has just coordinated with 10 businesses under Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA) to display 10 booths at the 2015 IMM expo, one of the world’s biggest interiors expos in Germany’s Cologne. These booths absorbed many visitors with the mention of negotiating the signing of export contacts.

Also in the trip, Thinh Phat Co.Ltd. has signed a contact exporting decoration products worth US$39,000 into Holland. The company is specialized in manufacturing various decoration products under a modern style plus special designs. After many years getting involved in the field, the company with products bearing “Lavanto” brand name has constantly developed to be able to aim at foreign market and so far the company has set up its agents nationwide.

According to Mrs.Trinh, the center will further give leaders of provincial Department of Industry and Trade advice on submitting the Action Program on improvement of international economic integration ability in 2015 and the next years to provincial People’s Committee. Businesses also need to further enhance their competitiveness, improve technologies to manufacture products with high quality, beautiful design and reasonable price in line with customers’ taste in each country.
