Industrial growth
In the first half of this year, the global economy showed recovery. Main export markets such as the US, EU and Japan implement many policies to stimulate and develop production and trade. However, political tension in Ukraine and East Sea causes obstacles for the world economic recovery.
Along with efforts of local agencies and enterprises, industrial production remained reaching good results in the first half of this year with the total industrial production value of VND81,882.1bil, a 12.5% increase compared to the period last year. Based on the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), the provincial industrial production index increased 7.5% compared with the same period last year.
According to assessment of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, this is a fair growth compared with other provinces and cities.
Results of trade promotion
In order to help businesses spread products, expand market, since the start of this year, the provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information launched trade promotion programs for associations, People’s Committee and Economic Division at all levels. The center urged businesses to join in the program of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas and exhibitions and fairs such as LifeStyle Vietnam 2014 and other fairs held at provinces and cities nationwide.
So as to help enterprises have more opportunities of business cooperation, new partner expansion, inventory settlement, the center mobilized and assisted 3 businesses to join in Ben Tre provincial Trade Industry and Craft Village Fair and supported other 15 companies to participate in the 31st ASEAN International Fair and Furniture Exhibition in Singapore.
In addition, the center in cooperation with People’s Committee and Economic Division of Tan Uyen, Dau Tieng and Phu Giao districts organized 3 market days of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas with the participation of 18 enterprises, reaching the sale of about VND2.7bil, contributing to raise rural customers’ awareness on using high quality Vietnamese commodities.
Especially, to create opportunities of trade exchange of enterprises, in the final months of this year the center will hold 4 market days of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas and industrial parks as well as hi-agriculture fair, Vietnam-Cambodia Trade Fair 2014 to be held in Phnom Penh. In addition, the center will hold many market surveys to some central provinces such as Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam. Besides, the center will organize seminars and short-term training classes on international economic integration, online trade and more in a bid to assist local enterprises.
Bounding for trade expansion
In order to strengthen linkage of the Southern provinces and cities, accelerate operation of trade promotion, expand domestic market and export market, the center held conference of linking centers of trade promotion, tourism promotion and investment promotion with provinces and cities in the Southern region at the Ho Chi Minh City on May 30, 2014.
Attending the conference were leaders of centers of provinces and cities such as An Giang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Long An, Soc Trang, Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long and more.
At the conference, leaders of these centers signed cooperation agreements on trade and investment promotion. The main cooperation contents included trade promotion, domestic and export market expansion, goods and service development at localities. These centers exchanged schedule of event organization to map actively out plans of participating in events, supporting distribution network for the sake of trade promotion.
In addition, the center connects communication information between units, often uploads operational programs and reports on market research, offers or exchanges information mutually.
Especially, on the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Decision No.5416/QĐ-BTC dated June 17, 2014, Binh Duong province will hold the Southeastern trade and industry sector fair and handicraft exhibition 2014 in Dec. 2014.
This is a good opportunity for enterprises in the Southern key economic zone to introduce their products and promote advantages of the Southern key economic zone, strengthen finding of partners and setting up consumption market, contributing to increase production capacity, business and competition in the international economic integration.
Moreover, this is a good chance for Binh Duong administration to introduce its potentials, advantages and achievements, contributing to push up implementation of the mobilization of “Vietnamese give priorities to use Vietnamese goods”.
