Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang has signed
Decision No.3923/QD-BGTVT on “Approval of traffic infrastructure development
plans in the southeastern region till 2015 and orientations for 2020”.
Accordingly, there are some important plans relating to Binh Duong as follows: 
The existing Binh Duong Avenue
HCM city-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh highway
The HCM city-Long Thanh-Dau Giay highway will be completed and put into use by 2015. The southeastern region will also build the Ben Luc-Long Thanh highway, the Tan Van-Long Thanh route under the Belt Road No.3 in HCM city.
From 2015, the region will build many other highways (including the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet route, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau route, the Belt Road No.3 in HCM city, the HCM city-Trung Luong route; the Belt Road No.4 in HCM city in HCM city); research for the construction of the HCM city-Moc Bai highway, the HCM city-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh highway and some remaining routes of the Belt Road No.4 in HCM city; upgrade and expand key highways, belt roads and the inter-Cai Mep-Thi Vai port roads and inter-Dong Nai roads; upgrade inter-provincial roads as approved, open new roads at the local socio-economic development needs; further develop rural traffic system to meet requirements on new rural construction.
The north-south railway system in the southeastern region will be also modernized. Besides, the region will build the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau railway; research to build some railways, comprising of the Di An-Loc Ninh route, the HCM city-Tay Ninh route, the HCM city-Can Tho route and other routes connecting to ports in HCM city, Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
2013-2015 period
The Belt Road No.3 in HCM city at the route of My Phuoc-Tan Van will be built during the period. There are preparations for investment of the routes: Binh Chuan-highway 22, highway 22-HCM city-Trung Luong highway, the Belt Road No.4 at the Ben Luc-Hiep Phuoc route.
Inter-provincial/district roads and urban ones will be also upgraded under the local planning. In addition, all communal roads in communes meeting standards on new rural construction will be covered by asphalt or concrete.
2016-2010 period
The region will complete traffic projects that have been started for construction in the 2012 and 2015 period. Based on national resources, the region will continue building key projects as follows:
Road:
Completing projects that have been delayed in the 2012 and 2015 period; fulfilling highways that have been started for construction in the 2013-2015 period; building highways (Bien Hoa-Vung Tau route, Dau Giay-Phan Thiet route); building the Belt Road No.3 in HCM city at the routes of Binh Chuan-highway 22, highway 22-HCM city-Trung Luong; building the Belt Road No.4 in HCM city at the route of Ben Luc-Hiep Phuoc; researching and building highways of the HCM city-Moc Bai route, HCM city-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh route and the remainder of the Belt Road No.4; upgrading highways, making investment in coastal routes; building viaducts…
Railway:
Further mobilizing capital sources to upgrade the North-South railway at the route of Trang Bom-Hoa Hung; building the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau railway. Researching and building several new 1,435mm gauge dual track lines along the north-south railway, the Di An-Loc Ninh-HCM city-Can Tho railway. Completing the urban railway No.1 Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien and preparing for investment of the remaining urban railways.
