Training workshop on restructuring of industry and trade successfully organized

On November 20, 2024, provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT)  successfully organized a training workshop under the theme of "Enhancing the Capacity of Industry and Trade Officials in Restructuring of Industry, Energy and Import-Export Trade”,  attracting the participation of 40 delegates.

The training workshop was also attended by officials, civil servants and employees from the industry and trade sector; representatives from district-level People's Committees and district-level economic divisions as well as industry and trade collaborators from communes and wards across the province.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Huynh Tuan Hoang, Deputy Head of the Trade Management Division emphasized the crucial role of enhancing management capacity and updating professional knowledge for the staff, especially as the sector faces significant challenges in restructuring, applying green technology and meeting international standards for import and export.

At the training session, Dr. Trinh Thi Thanh Thuy, a senior researcher and former Deputy Director of Director of the Institute for Industry and Trade Strategy and Policy Research delivered an in-depth presentation on restructuring import and export activities. Dr. Trinh emphasized the importance of increasing the added value of key export sectors, optimizing supply chains and upholding opportunities from free trade agreements (FTAs). She also provided recommendations on digital transformation in trade, enhancing the competitiveness of Binh Duong's goods in international markets.

In addition to topics on import and export, the training session also covered strategies for restructuring the industrial sector towards promoting a low-carbon model and transitioning energy structures. These efforts aim at achieving Vietnam's commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050 as pledged at COP26.

The training session received high appreciation, especially for its practicality and long-term solutions for the development of the province's industry and trade sector from attending delegates. In the coming period, provincial DoIT will further implement similar training programs, aiming at building a strong contingent of officials capable of meeting the sustainable development demands of the industry and trade sector in the era of international integration.
