To increase competitiveness of products
The vote for typical rural industrial products was organized in four levels, including district, provincial, regional and national level. Typical rural industrial products of each level were evaluated in detail by each product group according to criteria for market response and production development; socio-economic and environmental criteria; cultural and aesthetic criteria and other criteria.

Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Director of Industry Promotion and Industrial Development Consultancy Center, said that the selection of typical rural industrial products had created favorable conditions for rural industrial producers to introduce and promote their products, stimulate the development of rural industrial production. In addition, the program also aimed at attracting, encouraging and motivating rural industrial enterprises and establishments in general and units having nominated product in particular to be more active in high-quality product development, take advantage of potential of the locality.
Tran Tien Nam, Chairman of Directors Board of Quang Minh Production - Trading JSC (Ben Cat Town) shared, the vote for typical rural industrial products encouraged businesses to create products suitable to the market. These products were also stamped with Vietnam's typical rural industrial products, so it would be easier to access foreign countries, create trust and build brand name. This year, the company's water-hyacinth terracotta was voted as a typical rural industrial product of national level. In order to make this product, water hyacinth was treated against mold before being put into production, so the product had high quality, diversified designs, and high aesthetic value.
To promote propaganda
In recent years, the vote for typical rural industrial products has received attention from provincial People's Committee, and the support of relevant departments, sectors in the province. Binh Duong has a lot of potential for developing local industries with many well-known products to domestic and foreign customers.
Among 24 nominated products of 18 provincial enterprises at province-level, 9 products were selected at regional level, 5 products were selected at national level 2017. According to experts, the number of 24 products of the whole province participating in this vote was still low compared to the number of enterprises and production establishments in the province. Therefore, in the coming time, propaganda should be further enhanced to attract more and more products to the vote.
In order to diversify rural industrial products, in the future, Binh Duong will continue to pay more attention to this field in order to have more and more good products for domestic market and export, contributing to developing rural economy.
