The General Department of Customs has issued a document guiding Customs Departments of provinces and cities to implement regulations on value-added tax (VAT) reduction according to Resolution No. 174/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly, allowing continued VAT reduction from January 1 to June 30, 2025. According to Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15 of the National Assembly, a 2% reduction in VAT will be applied to groups of goods and services currently subject to a VAT rate of 10% (to 8%), except for some groups of goods and services such as telecommunications, information technology, financial activities, banking, securities, insurance, real estate business, metals, prefabricated metal products, mining products (excluding coal mining), coke coal, refined petroleum, chemical products, goods and services subject to special consumption tax.
