Realizing that farmers play an important role in the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, provincial Farmers’ Association has actively promoted the movement of “Farmers joining hands in new rural construction” among members.

Contributions by farmers
Since 2012, provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels have mobilized members to carry out 47.2 km of rural roads; dredged and upgraded nearly 80km of canals, ditches; contributed nearly VND20bln and 20,200 working days to building up rural new areas under the movement of “Farmers joining hands in new rural construction” and the motto of “the State and people work together”. They have also helped members know more about their role in new rural construction.
Many bright examples in the movement of “Farmers joining hands in new rural construction” appeared across the province over the past three years. For example, Dang Thanh Tuan residing in Tru Van Tho commune’s hamlet 4 in Bau Bang district voluntarily gave his 1,000 sq.m land for the local government to build a preschool and a market of hamlet 4. He also funded the installation of the one-km lighting system at the market.
Or, Nguyen Van Bac residing in Long Nguyen commune’s Trang Lon hamlet in Bau Bang district donated his 1,500 sq.m land to the local government in order to make a rural road. Nguyen Van Den residing in Phu Chanh commune’s Phu Bung hamlet in Tan Uyen town also contributed his 6,000 sq.m-land with more than 100 rubber trees under exploitation for rural road construction…
Over the past three years, provincial Farmers Association also teamed up with Mam Xanh Fertilizer Company to build and upgrade 4 houses of compassion worth VND80mln for farmers in Phu Giao and Dau Tieng districts. Provincial Farmers Associations at all levels joined hands with the local sectors and mass organizations to build and upgrade 232 gratitude and great unity houses with a total expense of nearly VND8.9bln.
Farmers across the province also contributed to well realizing the program’s criterion on culture over the past time. They actively registered to take part in the movements of “building up cultural families, quarters and hamlets”. As a result, there were over 95% of farming households winning the title of “cultural families”.
All the above results have affirmed the active role of provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels in the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Upon this, provincial Farmers’Association at all levels have contributed to fulfilling criteria of the program while step by step reaching a goal of building up a more and more civilized, modern countryside.
Farmers helped to effectively participate in new rural construction
New rural construction is a great policy of the Party, State and it is also a significant program for the life of human beings, especially farmers. Realizing that farmers play an important role in the new rural construction program, provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels have sped up dissemination of information about the program among members.
Over the past three years, provincial Farmers Associations at all levels opened over 2,700 classes on transferring sci-tech advancements in cultivation, animal husbandry and services for more than 131,000 members; helped more than 6,200 members get loans for economic development; supported more than 2,500 farming households to rise up out of poverty. As of late 2013, they helped nearly 2,700 farming households escape poverty; developed 1,056 farmsteads with a total farming area of more than 11,423 hectares, 24 cooperatives and 254 cooperation groups on agricultural production.
The above results affirmed that the province’s movement of “Farmers joining hands in new rural construction” has reached development both in depth and width. In the coming time, provincial Farmers Associations at all levels will further help members get access to loans for economic development, contributing to promoting the new rural construction program, according to association chairman Nguyen Hoang Vinh.
The association will also focus on propagandizing and mobilizing members to well realize the campaign of “The entire people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential quarters”, actively take part in rural infrastructure construction and urban rejuvenation in association with the National Target Program on New Rural Development…
