Over the past time, province-based rubber plantations have made contributions to the local development. Upholding their role will contribute to promoting the local process of new rural construction.
The whole province now has around 20 rubber plantations under Dau Tieng Rubber Corporation and Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company (JSC). They have made great contributions to the development of the local rural communes. Noticeably, they have excelled at generating jobs for rural laborers.
Long Hoa rubber plantation under Dau
Tieng Rubber Corporation in Dau Tieng district’s Long Hoa commune is an exemplary
role-model in providing jobs for rural laborers. The whole plantation now has
around 1,300 laborers with the average income of more than VND5mln per capita
per month.
Province-based rubber plantations have excelled at generating jobs for locals, contributing to implementing the new rural construction program’s criterion on improvement of rural residents’ income
According to plantation director Tran Van Bong, his plantation has given priority to recruiting the local laborers and paid more attention to their spiritual and material lives.
Other exemplary role-model is Tan Hung rubber plantation under Phuoc Hoa Rubber JSC in Ben Cat district’s Tan Hung commune. Currently, more than 90% of the plantation’s laborers are locals. Laborers herein last year enjoyed the average income of VND7.1mln per capital per month.
Tran Thanh Hung, Director of Tan Hung rubber plantation said: “The majority of rubber-growing area in the commune belongs to his plantation. Hence, creating stable jobs for locals is our task. We have also prioritized to recruit locals, especially youths who have fulfilled their military service and those who are the offspring of the plantation’s workers...”.
Cooperation between rubber plantations and rural communes of the province has also obviously expressed in many aspects of socio-culture, sports…On the annual Tet and holidays, rubber plantations have joined hands with the People’s Committees of communes in the rural region to visit and present gifts to the poor; awarded scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils; built houses of compassion and organize cultural-sports activities… Especially, they have had a good cooperation in keeping the local order and security.
Possibly speaking, rubber plantations have greatly contributed to the local development. Upholding their role will contribute to promoting the province’s new rural construction process. Along with the Party and State’s policies and laws, dissemination of information about the province’s new rural construction program needs to be sped up at rubber plantations so that the program can gain better results.
