District Development is on the tendancy of increasing facilities and production scale. Aqua-cultivated vegetables have become more and more popular. The demands for green and fresh vegetables have been ensured thanks to modern watering techniques.Beside vegetalbes, mushroom and orchid shall florish. It is estimated by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development that by 2020 the province will have over 370 hectares of ornament plants as merchandise. The relative high initial investment could help the owner to earn 8-10 folds comparing to traditional models; however, the owners should be well-trained and knowledgeable.Mr. Nguyen Van Dep, an owner of tomato and cucumber farm at Phu An Commune in Ben Cat District, informed that farmers should be passionate to follow those tech-rich models. The preliminary results are impressive; however, as asserted by Mr. Pham Van Bong, Deputy Director of the Department that those models were of low density and scattered in the population. The technology transferring is limited to training courses only. Thus, the effectiveness is out of the question. The forces including capital and technology are lacking to support the farmers. So as to promote urban agriculture, Mr. Pham Van Bong called for more frequent training courses to expand the models to suit with production conditions and auxilary sectors.Reported by Cao Son – Translated by Vi Bao
